Hi,
I have read the article: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca/ ... -joomla-25 but just want to double check since I probably have one of the largest galleries around.
I have over 100,000 images, which grow by the week. I am upgrading the site and would like to keep the gallery and all the settings intact. Can i follow the instructions in the link above to properly complete the migration?
Is there any other tips or advice before doing this?
Thanks

Hi, I will write a guide after all extensions will be overwritten for Joomla! 3 (I hope I will do it before Joomla! 3 will be stable LTS) - for now I cannot give any advice as I didn't do the migration yet

Jan!
Oh my, so, put simply, you're saying, "DO NOT MIGRATE - RESULTS UNKNOWN"
I have hundreds on hundreds of categories, and for each category there is minimum of 100 images, and 100 thumbnails. Its a nightclub site which hosts pictures for every night its open, and registered users to access the images, so there is A LOT.
Want to make intelligent moves, but J1.7 is done, and need to move off for web security and new plugins.
Any thoughts? Or basically just start over for the time being.

Hi, you should just move your site from 1.7 to 2.5 (which should be easy) - Joomla! 2.5 is the stablest version of Joomla! with all the security methods.
