[Solved] Can make cooliris work but only on Linux, not Windo

Post by savio »

I installed com_phocagallery_v3.1.4 on Joomla 2.5.1

I followed all steps on your document and thought that I did it successfully because I can see the 3D wall playing on my Firefox/Ubuntu. However, when I test it on Windows PCs, it fails.
I can only see the frame, liveshare logo, buttons, grey boxes which should be those photos, but no photos! It happens on both Internet explorer and Firefox as long as it is Windows OS (XP and Win 7).

As I find that your demo site (https://www.phoca.cz/joomlademo/phoca-gallery-cooliris) can display everything correctly on my testing machines, I know my problem should be solvable. Would you please give me some hints or point me the direction to what should I do.

FYR, my site address is http://www.hchk.org/2012
Cooliris is at the 3rd item (and it sub-menus) of top menu, named Gallery, the rest are Chinese characters.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I have google a lot but still can't find anything relevant for my problem.

Is it about Phoca's backend setting and I have overlooked something? Or, it requires extra plugin? Or, it is about the server, php, ... that area of setup? Or, I have to pay for something to make it work?

Would anybody please give me some hints?

Finally, I read the document on cooliris and find out what is wrong, and why I was mislead.

The key issue is still about the generation of the Media RSS file (i.e. the step you click the photo category and press the button "cooliris" at top-right corner mentioned in those tutorials). This step must be done on the production site.

I do all the development on my home server then migrate to the web hosting's server. So, those media rss files point to my home server instead of the correct one. The most misleading Linux vs Windows issue is inherited from a dns issue on my home server which is another story.
