want to include more details in title or filename

Hi,

I am using this component to download Placement papers..Have to list the company names,if user clicks that have to display the years,after that list of files to download.

How to change the link from tile or file name to company name? Where i have to insert the company names whether in "phoca download->files->new" or have to create new MVC & Table?

I am confused with this.Suggest me with your ideas..

I am not sure if this fulfill your needs but try it:

1. Create a new category with the company name as title
2. Create a new category with the year as title and the company category as parent
3. Add files to the right category (Company - Year)

In phoca download its not possible to select multiple parent category for a single file.I want to include both the company name & year.For a single company,aptitude and technical papers are there .I am selecting it as a sub category.

Guide me with this concept..

or am I wrong? If you follow the steps above you should have something like that! The files would be assigned to the subcategory which should be displayed as "Company - Year" in the drop-down field. (Company and year are only placeholders for the real values!)

ya, you are correct SonRiab.

When user clicks on sub category the list of year should be displayed.when user on year then university,then files.When user clicks on file,then they can download the file.
Which table and MVC i have to use in phocadownload component ?

Give me suggestions as soon as possible..

Go to Phoca Download in the backend, open the categories tab, click on "New" and create the first (parent) category by filling in the title and click "Save & New". Now you create a new one but this time you assign the parent category. There is a drop-down field right after the title showing all categories present. Select the first one and "Save" it. The files would be assigned to the right category by selecting them in the drop-down field right after the title field. But I would say try it yourself to get a feeling of working with PHoca Download! By the way: I use PD 2.1.4 for Joomla 1.7. If you use the Joomla 1.5 version of PD things can be different!

Phoca Download for joomla 1.5 functionality is same as that of 1.7...I want to create a new view and table for company..I edited the code in phoca download component but issue is that I cant insert the values into "company" table.I cant find where I did the mistake.. Referred joomla Docs also, but I cant find the error.

Engineering(category)->Computer(sub category).When clicks on subcategory,user can download the files now.My idea is,after clicking on sub category
