Hi,
Everything seemed to work fine until I tried to download a file using Safari instead of Firefox which I had previously been using.
My files are accessible to registered users only, and so when a user clicks on the Download button, it takes them to a login page (which appeared automatically - I did not set this up myself). I entered my login details and it took me back to the file I wanted to download. I clicked on the Download page but instead of downloading the file, it took me to a page which said:
"You are currently logged in to the private area of this site".
When I used Firefox to download the file, it works fine. After I am logged in I click on Download and a window asking if I want to open or save the file appears, which is what I want to happen.
Why does this not work in Safari?
Thanks for any help,
Kelly

Hi, do you get this problem in chrome too, maybe there is some problem with caching the site

Hi Jan,
I just tried it with Google Chrome and it works fine so it's just Safari causing a problem. How do I solve this problem?

Hi, really no idea there, as Safari use the same kernel as Chrome - webkit - it should be displayed the same way - maybe try to test settings of the browser

Hmm, maybe there is some cache problem in Joomla! 1.6 I will test it.

Re: Safari doesn't let me download files
Is there a solution available somewhere. I have a site that is working fine except for the Phocadownload components on Safari. I get the #404 document not found error on all Phocadownload files on Safari. All other modules work fine, and the Phocadownload links work fine on all other browsers.
Thanks
Manish

For me it works as expected too.
I am using the latest PD Component and the latest Joomla Version. All options for Safari are at their default values.
Do you use Apache with mod_rewrite enabled? Do you try to disable it? Which versions do you use?
