blank screen displayed with phoca download 2.1.1

Hi there --

I am running Joomla 1.6 on a Turnkey Linux 11.1 appliance. I am able to upload the phoca download 2.1.1 module to the server, and I am presented with the installation page. I click on the install button, and then a blank screen appears. If I go back a page, I get message saying the module was successfully installed on the server.

When I go to the Extensions Manager, and choose the Components item, the Phoca module does appear in the list. However, no matter what item I choose within the Phoca group, I am still presented with a blank screen, which makes the module completely inaccessible on the system. I am using the PHP 5.3.2 release, with the maximum memory allocation, maximum file upload size, and maximum http post size all set to 128 megabytes.

What step(s) do I need to take in order to be presented with pages that are not simply blank?

Hi there --

I tried the procedure that was mentioned in your posting, but the result was the same. No matter what menu item I go to, I am presented with a blank screen, making the application installed but inaccessible. Any other ideas?

Joomla 1.6.3 with the same problem occurred, but I resolved by updating to 1.6.6

Hi there --

I did an installation of TurnKey 11.2/Joomla 1.6 on another appliance, and subsequently upgraded the latter to the 1.7.1 version. Once that was done, I did the installation of Phoca Download, and the pages appeared as they should.

I just reinstalled whole joomla and now everything works so smooth =) strange.. but anyways problem solved
