Preview doesn't work

First apologize for my english.
My problem is that the function preview doesn't work (plugin activate, filenamepreview ok) whereas it worked before.
Perhaps I changed something but i don't know what it is ???

I come back. I re-installed the component and I think that preview works if the file is in the repertory html but preview doesn't work for files that are in the repertories before html ===> Is it true ??

Am I clear ???

Hi, the preview (play) only works for images: jpg, gif, png and pdf and flv and mp3

In my experience, it works with pdf, too but not if the file is out of the repertory WWW.

What do you think about this ?

Is there no way to add a PREVIEW in the frontend when UPLOADING?
I have to add it in the backend and it has to be something like a JPG? If it is a PDF and they click PREVIEW it downloads the file? I remember being able to preview the whole PDF before.

it is in feature request list, for now I cannot say how to do it, as I didn't implement it yet.
