Plugin not working in Joomla 1.6

The plugin is published but I'm getting

in the article instead of the download button

Here's the first problem: The function name is wrong. The plugin has "function onPrepareContent" when it should be "function onContentPrepare".

Then when I fixed that, I get Fatal error: Call to a member function loadByOption() on a non-object in /plugins/content/phocadownload/phocadownload.php on line 37

Yes, it was tested that joomla v1.5 plugins can not work with joomla v1.6
The available Phoca Download Plugin and Phoca Download Button Plugin are joomla v1.5 plugins.

Yes, I think so, but I can not say when.
This depends on the freetime of Jan the developer of all this extensions. (Because he develops all this in his freetime!!)
