Hi,
I use Phoca Download (newest version) without only problem with SEF URL's = yes.
But then I set mod_rewrite = yes and activate .htaccess. Now I get 403-error when I navigate on frontend to phoca download.
I set everything to public access.
I saw a lot of people have similar problems but I couldn't find a solution in this forum.

very stange. I just put the menu-item as a submenu, and it works. When I put it as top menu item, it doesn't work and it gives me a 403-error. (I use menu item type: section layout, SEF and mod_rewrite are still = yes).
So I will just configure my navigation that downloads are a submenu ...

Hi, try to disable the SEF ans see which links have which Itemids (id) so you will know which menu link is the menu link which causes the problem (maybe the submenu get other itemid in links included there), try to see:
