I need to create more advanced access levels

Post by dalearyous »

So i really, really like phoca download. Seems to be great all around way to manage uploads and downloads in front end and back end. My problem I am having is I need to create access levels more advanced than Joomla will let me. For example...

lets say i have 20 users, 5 can only access 1 category, 5 access different category, 5 access different category, 5 access different category etc...

i can't just use registered access level because i want to limit registered users to only see a handful of chosen categories, sections, or files.

if this is confusing let me know and i will post back with very specific example.

Hi, maybe you should wait until there will be Joomla! 1.6 where new ACL will be enabled.

hi phoca team. Thank you for your great component.

I have similar question, but much simpler.
I want anonymous user to fill a form and agree the term, before they can download the file.
its same as the license page, by adding a simple form, and there a backend menu to display that form data.
this form just simple question about "what for this file", "where you from", and simple validation like captcha math, or "are you human or gosht" :D.

I want to make this hack by my self, but I don't know how :(, so please give me some clue.

once again, thank you
