Link to file - icons, preview, etc

I've been using PhocaDownload for about a week and using the Link to Section, Category options with (eventually) some success.
I now have a situation where I want a single file download "button" in an article, and thus chose the "Link to file" option (and if important, I used the Button plugin), but I can seem to get the icon of my choice displayed or any sort of preview mode working.

basically I get a box with a standard download icon -looks like a diskdrive with a green arrow in a circle- and the name of my file (title, which is what I want). It won't display the (in this case) PDF icon I used with the same file in the Link to Category setup or any preview, details, download links.... just the standard icon and the filename.

The function actual downloading works fine... no complaints about that. Its trying to get the same look as the other "Link to..." options that is holding me up.

Are these features not supported with "LInk to FIle"?

Incidentally, the "code" generated by the button plugin is....

All plugins,components have been downloaded in the last 6 days so should be latest versions.

Hi, for now there is no such featue, only one image (css) is displayed for the link, so this needs to be customized
