Hello,
I would like to offer some downloads in an own table using different icons for mp3 and pdf files. If I insert a Phoca Download link in an article I receive something like {phocadownload view=file|id=5|target=s}. When published, the article contains a download icon with a link to the file which looks like index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&download=5:Test&id=3:mydownloads&Itemid=74.
How could I get this link "index.php?option=com_phocadownload..." easier and without publishing the article?
Thanks for your help,
Manni

Re: Download link
Hi, just create a menu link to Phoca Download component - in menu manager. You can select:
- menu link to sections
- menu link to section
- menu link to category
- menu link to file
Joomla! - Administration - Menu Manager - e.g. Main Menu - Menu link to Phoca Download

- menu link to sections
- menu link to section
- menu link to category
- menu link to file
Joomla! - Administration - Menu Manager - e.g. Main Menu - Menu link to Phoca Download

Re: Download link
Hi Jan,
Thank you for your reply. But that doesn't help me exactly. Please try to do the following:
Take a picture from your images/stories directory and link it to a mp3 Phoca Download file. If you click on the icon you should be asked if you want to play the mp3 file or if you want to download it. No other menu, no new page, no other download button. (See attached example.)
It is not the same if you take the menu link to file. When clicked on the icon, another page opens with a new download button.
I could use a direct link to the file without Phoca. But I think it is better to hide direct URL to files.
It would be nice if the link was shown in a text box.
Thanks for your help

Re: Download link
Hi, do you use the latest files (Phoca Download plugin and component) In latest files (try to download and upgrade the files e..g which you can download now) you should get the link which directly download the file.

Re: Download link
Hi Jan,
Thanks a lot for your work. I've already got the latest version 1.3.3. I tried everything! That is what I did: First I uploaded a file named FileAAA.mp3 in the phocadownload folder. Then I created a Phoca Download file in section SectionAAA and category CategoryAAA. Then I created a menu link to file FileAAA.mp3. I placed all kinds of links in an article shown below:
The first link is indeed a direct link to the file. But it shows not my favorite icon (also if I chose an icon in the Phoca Download form). You have to click on the name of the file, not on the icon.
The last link is the one I copied from the menu link to file. A click on this link opens another page with a download button. That's not what I wanted. I were happy if the reaction of this link was the same as the first one.
I don't know how to get a link which I can connect with a Picture or icon of my own choice.
Do you have another idea? I know that I do not use the Phoca Download component as intended. Do you know JoomDOC? JoomDOC shows a URL text field with the correct link to the file (see JoomDOC button).
Thank you for your help!

Re: Download link
Hi, sorry I don't understand, these links were created with help of Phoca Download Button Plugin and Phoca Download Plugin:
https://www.phoca.cz/demo/phoca-download-plugin
The links are SEF links and correctly created (include file link - download and include file link - play)
