permissions issue

I downloaded phoca gallery into my local joomla host, and all seemed to go well but have the following not enabled.

On looking through the forums, can this be a permissions issue? As I installed into the local host, I have not the FTP layer enabled as didn't think this necessary? I went into the folder and changed the permission to read and write for the folder as privacy is not an issue on my local host - can anyone help me as to where to go from here?

Thanks for getting back to me - I have discovered that i need to download a gd library as my mac doesn't have this currently installed.
I have since moved to install on a web host instead of local, and seems to be working fine; I do have another problem which have posted under different category!
