Hello,
We have been using Phoco Gallery and had a recurring problem where the image that describes the category will not change. We tired re-ordering the images and replacing the image in the category Description field, with no luck. The first image that goes with the category description will not change. Can someone tell me where that image is coming from?
J: 3.6.5
PhocaGalllery: 4.30
Thanks.

Re: How set primary category image
Hi, it depends on parameters:
- category image can be an image selected in category edit
- it can be avatar of the user
- it can be image from the category (image stored with other images) and then it depends on parameters which ordering you set, e.g. if title ascending, then the image which is ordered as first alphabetically.

Re: How set primary category image
Hi Jan,
We are still having problems with the presentation of images. We have (I think) got the right sort order, but the second image is still showing as the first image on the site in two categories. If you need direct access, I will arrange it.
Also, we cannot upload images into defined subfolders (under the root). I have moved the images using other tools, but cannot do it within your component. I need a way for the client admin to do it.
Lastly, is there anyway to delete an image? There doesn't seem to be a way.

Re: How set primary category image
Hi, original images are not deleted as they can be used e.g. for another category, for article, for another component, for creating new thumbnail, etc.
You can use e.g. Phoca Commander to manage files on your server: https://www.phoca.cz/phocacommander
Is the first image (not displayed) published and accessible?

Re: How set primary category image
Hi Jan,
I've been through every possible option that I can think to resolve this. I have 5 categories and 3 are working as expected. The Options >> Ordering = Ordering Ascending. There is no avatar. I've tried category image, but nothing is displayed. I am quite tired of this and so is my client.
Any ideas?

Re: How set primary category image
If you need a specific image representing category, did you try to set it directly in category edit, so you have full control over which image will represent the category.
