Re: Prompting User To Login To Download File

Hi, I have tested all possible settings and everything is OK for me:

- the link to file (unique download link) is NOT displayed in case:

:: file is unpublished
:: file is unauthorized (not approved)
:: or the unique download link feature is disabled in Options

in other cases (e.g. file is not accessible, category is not accessible, etc.) the file is normally displayed.

Can you paste a screenshot of the site which is displayed when you paste the unique download link?

Enable Unique Download Link = YES

I was going to attached screenshots but noticed that I can't. Let me know if you need anything else or if it's easier I can give you the login to take a peak.

I noticed that via FTP there is no "download" folder. It's like this: /phocadownload/clientname/thefile.pdf

Thanks!

Hi, see:
forum-rules.php (5) - use e.g. imgur to paste a screenshot here.

In the unique download link, I see .html which can do the problems (If enabled in Joomla! configuration, try to disable suffixes when using sef as they are very problematic)

UH? I disabled the suffixes but that didn't help. It is still prompting me to login to download the file.

Hi,

1) try to updated to 3.1.0 if not done
2) if there will be still problem, try to disable sef completely, when disabled, do you get the problem?

Hi Jan,

I don't know what the issue is but I am still having the same problem.

I updated to 3.1.0, disabled SEF, and also created a new link but is still having the same problem :(

Thanks!

When I login initially it takes me to the home page and I get this message:
You are not authorised to view this resource.
If I add the URL in the browser and click on reload it then gives the option to download the file.

So even when I log in there is an issue trying to download the file :(

Thanks!

OK not sure what I did that made it work exactly but looks like the post below may have helped to fix the issue, changing the "maximum count of downloads per file" to = 0.
