I can't change the number of categories columns

Post by alex1404 »

Hello!

I can't change the number of categories columns. I choose different number of columns in Categories View (Control Panel - Options), but it doesn't change on a website. It all the time shows me the fixed number of categories columns.

Hi, which version you are using? Do you mean categories view or category view?

My problem is the same. PhocaGallery version: 3.2.2, the other parameters:
PHP base: Linux med 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Sep 23 23:29:01 UTC 2013 x86_64
Database version: 5.1.66-0+squeeze1
Database: utf8_general_ci
PHP version: 5.3.3-7+squeeze14
Webserver: Apache/2.2.16 (Debian)
WebServer to PHP: apache2handler
Joomla! version: Joomla! 2.5.19 Stable [ Ember ] 6-March-2014 14:30 GMT
Joomla!-platform version: Joomla Platform 11.4.0 Stable [ Brian Kernighan ] 03-Jan-2012 00:00 GMT
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2125.111 Safari/537.36

I try here: Phoca Gallery > Control Panel > Settings / Parameters > Categories View Settings > Number of Columns: - this is "1", and unwriteable

> Category View Settings > Number of Columns: here is set "3", but my album shows 5 columns, and I would like to see 4 columns. I overwrite it, but in vain. Nothing changes.
I'm looking for in templates too, but I can't find the solution.

I don't paste URL in my message, but you can find my album site with google: "Professors' Gallery szeged", the second hit ("Professors' Gallery - Portrék")

Would you be so kind to help me?

Hi, are you sure, your template does not override the content of Phoca Gallery?

I have the same problem.

I'm using Joomla 3.3.6 and a Gantry template. All extensions are the latest versions.

I want the boxes to span the full width - http://ottersbendlodge.co.za.dedi89.cpt ... all-images

Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi, on that site, I see four categories but e.g. there is space for more than 4 categories, so if you add two, they will fit the site width. Or you can resize the thumbnails so the float boxes will be larger and will fit the space. Or set the additional thumbnails, etc.

Hi capeinfo,

I looked at your website, and I think you have a fluid template, which adjust to the size of the viewers size. So if you set the number of columns to 5, this is the max number of columns that will be shown at a big enough screen. But the actual number of columns shown is adjusted to the viewers screen. If you allways want it to be 5 columns, you should use a different template with a fixed size, big enough to hold 5 colums
