create a multi branch blockchain with a main chain with offshoots some coins and other stuff.

Question

so i just want to know if I havve this right. If i create folders in the miltichain directory before running the chain at any point i can install a coin token database streamline etc for each of those folders and implement them into my set up. obviously i need 2 nodes for each addition and all need same ports to talk but besides that am i missing anything
