MultiChain has the mining process built in, so you don't need extra software. However if you like it can also be used with external mining software, in the same way as Bitcoin Core.

If I use bitcoin core then I have to connect to the multichain thread or connect as a node (2nd server as the tutorial)
You can't use Bitcoin Core to connect to a MultiChain network, unless you've set it up to use the bitcoin protocol.
How to use the bitcoin protocol?
It's one of the blockchain parameters:

hello , i found this project :
https://github.com/OhGodAPet/cpuminer-multi
if i use the bitcoin protocol . can this project mining coin? sorry , i bad english . thanks
I'm afraid we can't help with identifying whether a particular piece of mining software works with MultiChain. You would need to try it for yourself.
