Multichain extends the bitcoin protocol but it's different from "Bitcoin".
Multichain powers up most time private Blockchains.
The difference is that Multichain allow you to store assets and exchange them in a "native way" to do it, it was made for this purpose and it's pretty easy. Multichain hasn't designed for cryptocurrencies purpose.
