Transfer bitcoins back and forth from a multichain network

Question

Is it possible  to transfer bitcoins to Multichain network   ? Can a node act like an exchange  between  bitcoins and  local assets ?

In general this notion of directly connecting blockchains together without a trusted party in the middle, e.g. to transfer assets in either direction between them, is not really viable, or at least no one has come up with a practical way of doing it yet. In the meantime, the closest you can get is this:
