Supporting MultiChain in Insight Explorer

Question

What exactly will be required to change to the Insight API to accommodate Multichain's features?

The insight API will work "as is" for Multichain's native currency (when used) but we would like to get our heads around the exact changes that we will need to build into their API to support "assets" and other Multichain features.

I'm not familiar with the Insight codebase, but here are some key pointers:

• Make sure txindex=1 is set for its blockchain node before that node starts running - see http://www.multichain.com/developers/runtime-parameters/ for instructions how.
• Information about the assets and permissions assignments in transaction output scripts can be decoded yourselves using the information in http://www.multichain.com/developers/native-assets/ and http://www.multichain.com/developers/permissions-management/ - but...
• You're better off using decoderawtransaction and/or getrawtransaction with verbose=true. The output for those calls have extra fields that tell you what's going on with permissions and assets within transactions.
• You will also find listassets and listpermissions to be helpful, to get a snapshot of the current state of all assets and permissions in the blockchain.
