How do you feel about glitter?
'Herpes of the crafting world' or 'leave a little sparkle wherever you go'?  :greenwinkb:

Personally, I like glitter. I have several jars and tubes of Martha Stewart glitter. And some other misc. ones. I don't use it much because some people hate loose glitter and I don't want them to be crabby about if some flakes off. (I do try to brush off anything loose as best I can after it dries.)  I've got all this pretty glitter just sitting there but I don't want to have to take the extra product/time all the time either to seal over it with something else. Might have to start sucking it up though and just use the darn stuff, not just have it look pretty on a shelf. I might make a couple samples with Elmer's and Aleene's tacky glue as the sealer and see how they look when it dries. At least that stuff is cheap. (I actually just use Aleene's to scrap with now. Other glue was getting too expensive and in the end, I don't think it's going to really matter. I also did a test with some different glues and using a pH pen on them after it dried. Eye opener.)

I haven't used loose glitter a quite a while, use to use it occasionally. Now I just cut glitter paper to use where ever I feel it needs some glitter.

Yeah but how do you feel about it?
Would you be like 'ugh! there's glitter coming off this card'...   Do you use paper just because it's more convenient?

I love it! I choose the paper, because I often feel I MUST have some glitter and don't take the time to use the loose jars.

I have many many colors of loose glitter so I use it from the to time, mostly for centers for my home-made paper flowers. I prefer the chunkier glitter to the finer.

Well....being an art teacher, I definitely feel that glitter is the "herpes of the crafting world."  lol  Loose glitter is something I will rarely let my students use, and then I spray clear varnish over it to stop it moving around.  The worst part is it stays on the sponges and on the tables, and gets into the clay when my kids in Ceramics are working.  Then, it leaves little pit marks in their projects when it burns up in the kiln.  Kind of annoying!

But, I love the look of glitter, so Stickles and glitter glue are awesome!

I LOVE the look of glitter. But I hate the mess. So I use bling and stickles and Nuvo glitter drops. But occasionally I’ll use the loose stuff.

I can see it being more of a problem in that situation with kids.
That could be an interesting texture though in the ceramics purposely sticking it on the outside of the clay object!

I appreciate a well behaved, well contained, reasonable amount of glitter.
Outside of those parameters, herpes.
All 4 of my daughters prefer the "leave a little sparkle" approach.  It is a garage use only supply at home.  Even that better be a well contained environment.

I'm not a big fan of glitter. I already make a mess, and I don't need glitter to add to the mess.

Re: How do you feel about glitter?
Leave a little sparkle here! I have jars of the Martha Stewart glitter too and don't really use it on my projects, but when the kids are here JJ loves to pull out the glitter, and she definitely leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes. Lol. If I open a card with glitter I love it. I love seeing little sparkles. I do admit it gets messy and it is hard to clean up, but I do love the sparkles.

Glitter cardstock that doesn't shed is the only glitter that I use. LOL!  Never liked the mess.

I hate using glitter (the loose kind that NEVER goes away) but I do like using glittered products where the glitter is firmly adhered, laminated, and smushed in place that doesn't fall off or even dares to look like it might fall off.

It’s a big no for me. Hate the mess it makes! And you are still finding it 6 months later. I just say no to glitter.

Re: How do you feel about glitter?
Not a huge fan of it since it got in my eye and cut it years ago.  I do use the distress glitter occasionally and am actually using it on a snow LO right now.  It doesn't seem to stick and make the mess that regular glitter does.

Same, except I don't use the loose stuff anymore.

Loose glitter - nope...

I do love stickles, paper that has glitter on it...

I don't get mad if someone sends something with glitter on it, but I am careful to try not to get it all over everything!
