Im so behind I planned to do a full decorating of my house but I gave up lol
I still have wrapping to do. Some more cards to get in the mail. Im looking forward to the relaxing by the fire part
Texas got insanely hot weather this week. In the 80's. It makes it hard to feel festive when its hot outside. We have cooler temperatures coming this weekend. Thankfully.
Im glad you are hanging in there Laura!!
Health wise I am hanging in there as well. Just trying to get all my appointments done before medical shoots up a ridiculous amount That's another story for next year.
Have a happy Holidays DC's

Well, I'm in a better spirit this year!
Very ambitiously, I decided to send cards to everyone - mostly cards I made myself. I STILL have several to fill out and some to address. Can't find a few addresses that I NEED! Ugh
My sister Natalie and my sister in law kind of changed the family's holiday plans; and NOW we're all supposed to do an ornament exchange... VERY last minute of them to share these plans with me. *Sigh* so I STILL have to go get ornaments. (I cancelled the other gifts.) (AND then there's the fun stuff for the kiddos! Lol they'll be about 14 under 14 there- the rest are teens and young adults!)
I'm excited to see my family, though!
I JUST am a little annoyed that I had to make changes! (Though, it's fair for me for to point out that It's typical of those two to change ALL the plans at JUST about the last minute. )

So not ready!! Still need to put ornaments on the tree and finish decorating. Haven't wrapped a single present, not even finished shopping. We went out of town this past weekend for our anniversary. It felt like it was still the beginning of December when we left, and now all of a sudden there are only a few days left!! Must get some packages out! There will likely be no scrapping for the next week.
Oh I feel your daughter's pain! My birthday is also 12/26. I hope she has the best birthday! And thank you! My aunt lived a full life! We introduce my family to so many board games that became our activity on Christmas (and Thanksgiving). We will be continuing that fun tradition! Happy holidays!!scrappinmom99 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 5:32 pmwazzu94 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 1:45 pmI think I'm ready! I too haven't baked a single cookie. Also very strange for me. But will do sugar cookies this week as we are visiting my BFF in Washington this weekend and I always bring them.
We haven't figured out Christmas dinner yet. This is our first year in 15 years without my Aunt who we always shared the holiday with. So we need to start something of our own.
Seriously can't believe how quickly this year has flown by!
Happy Holidays Laura!!
My daughter's birthday is 12/26 and I also have to divide and wrap! Aww, I'm sorry to hear about your aunt (((Hugs))). I'm sure you will find a meaningful way to celebrate this year xoxo

I am hanging on...last 3 days before Christmas break includes exams, finishing the quarterly rotation with my 7th and 8th graders, and trying to put together the staff gifts for admin, secretaries, and custodians. It's nutso, but it will all be over soon, and THEN I can focus on our Christmas! lolLaura wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 1:30 pmHello, Cherries! Well, we are 9 days away from Christmas!! Are you excited? Do you still have any shopping or wrapping to do? How about party planning? If you do, you better get to moving!!
I'm hanging in there. I still have wrapping to do, but I think I'll let my daughter finish that up since it kind of rattles my ears. I also have yet to bake a single cookie -- which is VERY strange for me! So I plan on working on those tomorrow and Wednesday!
At some point, I also have to put in one last grocery order before Christmas.
Other than that, I'm ready for Santa! And, he better be good to me this year!

Our family gatherings were focused around both of them, going to their home to celebrate. It felt weird not getting together the first Christmas they weren't with us, and I didn't see either of my sisters or their families that year. Now I host Christmas Eve here, like we used to at their house. It's chaotic but fun. It's the one time a year that I get to see my family. I wish you a Merry Christmas filled with peace and love.SCRAPBOOKINGVLCS wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 1:36 amHELLO DC'S

Running behind this year. The packages to WA were sent yesterday - hopefully arrive on the 24th. The little bit of decorating is done. Wine gift to DS and wife arrived at their home yesterday. I have to finish getting cards out. I finally got my labels printed - having problems with the printer wifi. Today I plan on getting them signed and in envelopes. Will mail tomorrow.
I don't have any cooking or baking to do. Though I need to make a side dish (need to go to the store) for our Christmas party at the Rec Center and wrap my White Elephant gift.
Got a few things for DH so I am finished there. Not too bad but I am usually better getting things mailed.

Hi everyone! My name is Susan and I love to scrapbook!
At the beginning of November, I was in great shape. A gift list to check off, some of which was even complete at that point. A reasonable goal for handmade projects, manageable and scheduled. A filled in calendar with all the things that were on DD(9)'s Top 10 To Do List (light tours, treat making, Santa visit, etc). My December Daily was prepped. I was feeling really good about this year.
Thanksgiving went well, but December 2nd my Grandma entered hospice care. She passed on the 10th. I was trading nights with my mom at her bedside so that she was not alone. Then the wake, funeral, and burial. I am 100% going to choose a QUALITY of life over the QUANTITY of one, and no one can complain that Grandma's end wasn't perfect. She passed at age 95, from being 95. There was no diagnosis, pain, frustration, just one long nap that turned into her eternal slumber.
But I lost 2 and a half weeks!
DD(9) and I sat back down with our list and calendar and made choices for the things we wanted most in the time we have left in the season (we don't really need to watch ELF, again) and making fruit cakes became more important since we use a family recipe, and traditions have been a hot topic lately. We are going to make it through the next week with all the Christmas Cheer we can muster. I almost even want some snow!
I have no desire to complete a December Daily this year though. The overtone will be too sad. But every once in a while, I see a glimmer that makes me think I should. I am going to rest on that one for now, the Universe will let me know if and when.
I am glad that everyone has been healthy, that DD(20) got home from school safely, my DH has the house cozy and meals hearty. I am sure my mom will hang out a little more with us.
Here is to getting back on track!

Cross out 'holiday shopping' and make it anything. Story of my life.
Yep, as the kids were growing up we were always wrapping on Christmas Eve. It sucked but I'd end up doing it every year.
So fun for me to catch up! You ladies with all that cookie backing - wow! Can I get samples - no, wait, I'm a few pounds too much already! Had my Columbiettes party last night and my DD baked cookies for me to take, so I'm good on the cookies - almond flour since in can't eat flour!
Just finished making a gift for DGD and hubby - pillow cases. Am I getting a very late start? Yes I am!
Not stressing over Christmas this year - I will be with my kids and what more could I ask for.
Merry Christmas to all my Cherry friends!

We are headed to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon for Christmas. Since my siblings have all gone their separate ways, my husband is an only child and our patents deceased, we don’t have reason to have a big celebration. Since it is just my husband and my 2 girls who are almost 19 years and the other 20, we chose to do adventures for Christmas instead of gift exchanges. I do miss the traditional Christmas, but without much family and my son leaving our family, it created a void and it felt obligatory instead of celebratory. So we chose this; to make precious memories together, spend time together and see this beautiful country. This will be our second year doing this. Last year it was Florida. No decorations, just some Christmas cards. I have had some mobility issues and a kidney stone with surgery, so the decorations didn’t get done. But I have told myself it won’t matter, we will be sharing memories soon! God bless all this holiday season, and may we have hope and better health in the New Year! Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas!

Congratulations, Ginni, long time coming! What a precious thing to hear from your grandson! Merry Christmas!GinniG wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 4:06 pmHello Laura!!! I don’t know if you’ve seen or not but we started the move into our house last week! It’s far from finished but we LOVE i! I have 2 easy mini albums to make and mail on Thursday. I haven’t started to decorate yet but I will be soon. I’ve been concentrating on turning this place from a construction zone into a home. Lol! And trying to stay warm. We need a few rugs to hold heat!
im excited to be here at last and because youngest grandson Joe is begging his parents to come over for Christmas and “some grandparents time” as he puts it. I tell him it doesn’t HAVE to be Christmas Day as his parents might want that to be their family time. Lol! But the cabin being available to stay in is a big plus especially since it’s so cold! So I’m looking forward to that!
Merry Christmas everyone !!!

Oh Sarah! So sorry for the loss of your grandmother but you’re right that she passed in a perfect way (if there is such a thing). I’m glad that you’ve been able to discuss things with your daughter and rethink things. As for your December daily write things down while they’re fresh in your mind. Maybe in the future you’ll want to do it or some lesser version of it in the future.
Lots of {{{HUGS}}} coming your way.
