li’l smokie is a great name for the pinky that’s always hitting things! Hope it’s better soon! And I hope you find what you need to make finishing your quilt easier. {{{HUGS}}} to you too Tam!!!TamIAm wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 11:53 amBack to the quilt grindstone. Yesterday i dug out some hair claws to see if that would help and roll the quilt. But some aren't very strong. Need to venture to the shed and see if I can find some spring clamps.
Smacked my pinky toe on a box this morning. I have officially named that toe li'l smokie. Because it's a tiny sausage. I don't know how many times i've hit it over the years but it's been at least a few. It's definitely shorter than the other pinky toe.
Have a great day, cherry berries! Gotta run... (or in this case, hobble.)

Sharon, glad you’re starting to feel better! The coughing is always the worst part and is always the last part to leave. Hope your DH has a better night! My mom slept in a recliner most of the last few years of her life. Dems the thing to do late in life doesn’t it?FoxyStamping wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 12:40 pmThanks for the nice welcome the other days! I have begun to feel better. My head is clear, just nasal cold, now. DH is a day or two behind me. He had a rough night last night, coughing, even with meds and all other remedies we are trying! LOL. So I Came out and slept in a recliner. Surprisingly, I slept! I have never done that before! I know my late mother in her 80s always said she could sleep better in the recliner. Well, I am 79, so I guess it is my turn!
I did decorate the tree yesterday. Now our family room downstairs is a mess, as I had all the Christmas boxes out rifling through them. I have to find the energy to straighten that out. DH (81) and I have to go downstairs today and make up the beds for family coming on Friday. I could ask them to do it when they come, but they are driving through and will get here late.
sorry for all the drama , Wendy. ( is that right?). I hope it gets more peaceful for you. Nice of you to start the chat, PawPrints. I will try to get to know you here, then I will know you in the challenges and galleries. I have to go in search of a cough drops, as I am having a coughing fit. Ugh! I think I am on tail end now. Cough always last, it seems.
Glad you got your tree up and decorated! Hope your guests have safe travels too!

Holly, one card done is better than no cards done!!! Lol! Hopefully today will go better. Enjoy your day off too!!!JollyHollyScraps wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 1:23 pmHey Cherries
Well I didn't get done filling out and addressing my cards yesterday. I kind of wasn't in the mood really. So I just got ONE done! I realize time is ticking by and I need to get it in order!
I have to go do some shopping today and I'm kind of JUST taking my time getting everything together this morning. I slept in late and am having some coffee. I'm taking my time with everything because I'm off work today.
Have a blessed day, Cherries!

MTCanuk wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 2:58 pmJust quickly checking in before I start to vacuum and mop. DH is out driving and the fog and snow decided to roll in, so he is taking his time and won't be back for a while. I ran to the bank, Target,(where I ran into someone I use to work with and got all the low down.) Her daughter is also at school with my oldest granddaughter. So we have a lot to talk about. Then I headed to the grocery store for my weekly shopping trip. It's amazing how fast that week goes by. So now I clean and will be able to spend the days enjoying my Seattle daughter's visit, when she arrives tomorrow.
Otherwise, enjoying the season. Also got the cookies done yesterday. And went down to the sewing machine to quilt the Halloween quilt I am making for my oldest daughter. Should be able to get it finished today. Sounds like I am having better luck than Tan I Am with her quilting. Make some binding and get it sewn on.
Hope those who are under the weather get to feeling better quickly. Not the season to be sick
You’ve been busy Leslee!!! Hope Curtis has safe travels. And your daughter too! Enjoy your quilting!

DD in Florida ordered gifts for my sons and me to come here cause easier. I wrap all but my own which my sons take care of. Welllll. Got one Amazon box yesterday that was delivered to next door neighbor and looked like it had been squished and partly torn open and retaped. Finally got the other either very late last night or early this morning but still one gift missing-mine! lol. Oh well.
got my tree up and decorated yesterday. Took two of my neighbors to do it. Dang thing was so crooked. But looks ok now and will b gone on the 26th anyhow. Also decorated living room and entry hall. Looks very homey and festive.
boys coming to dinner tonight. Beef stew and biscuits. Need to go get some potatoes, carrots, and celery for that so a quick store run later. Maybe wrap a few more things if I’m so inclined later.
have a productive and beneficial Tuesday.
Oh Charleneanne!!! I hope the contents of the mangled package arrived ok! And I hope your gift arrives soon and is ok as well!!! Beef stew and biscuits sounds heavenly! Enjoy your day my friend!
Hello Dear Cherries!!!
It’s another cold day here. It’s currently partly cloudy and 31 degrees outside. Only 64 inside! So I’m bundled up in bed where I have my electric blanket and a blanket and a quilt covering me and a space heater on the floor aimed at the head of the bed. Lol!
We got a surprise in the forecast last night. Winter weather advisory as they’re calling it. 3-7 inches of snow starting tonight and ending late tomorrow. BUT the temps will finally be warming up to low 40s and over the weekend to almost 50!!! YAYAYAY!!! In anticipation and because almost all of our propane tanks are empty Steve has gone to town to fill them up and hopefully get some fire bricks to help with keeping the fire going. We are probably going to have to buy some wood soon. But we’d be paying for more electricity and diesel for the heater in the cabin so it’s about the same cost wise.
I got my two mini albums started last night! The folding and gluing of each individual “booklet” is done. There’s 3 booklets for each album. Now I just have to glue them together and decorate them. Shouldn’t take long at all! Hopefully we will be able to drive to town on Thursday and I can mail them to the 2 grandsons. Then I’ll pretty much be done with Christmas! Unless the kids come over during the holiday. Then I’ll need to get a few things to stuff stockings. They probably won’t decide until the last minute. Lol!
I’m hoping we can get a tree Thursday too. We will cut one down rather than buying one. I need to pull out my Christmas things and start decorating as I’m cleaning. Lol!
Otherwise just doing our best to stay warm! We ordered some rugs yesterday and that should help hold heat better than these bare floors. It’s so much fun to pick things out! But it’s stressful too because we have to hope the pictures are accurate. Steve jokes that we need to send Amazon a video because so much of what we’ve got in here is from there. Lol! They’re the only ones with free shipping to Alaska and that is often more than the cost of what we’re buying everywhere else!
Anyway, I hope you’re all feeling better and having a wonderful day!!!
