Chocolate Covered Cherry

Re: Scrap a December 11th
Hi Cherries! It’s going to be colder here too starting tonight. Actually it’s much more chilly than yesterday because the wind is blowing. The sun is partially peeking through the clouds so it’s not quite as dark as it’s been. That’s why it’s cold. Lolol!!!

Steve and I had a talk about the most important things that need to be done in the house before we move in. It basically boiled down to only 2 things that need to be done first. One was making sure the new small heater works and the other was to convert the range from natural gas to propane. That’s IT!!! So it’s possible that we could start moving in this weekend!!!!!!! Talk about excited and happy!!!!! Lolol!

I need to find a tutorial on how to make the mini albums for the two grandsons. Once I do that I’ll gather everything I need and take it over there to finish them. I was really hoping I could get them in the mail tomorrow but probably not. I’ll have to make a special trip early next week. But those might be my first projects in the house! It won’t happen in my new scrappy area because the downstairs isn’t electrified yet. But that’s okay! That’s something else to look forward to! :)

So that’s it from here. Hope you all stay safe and warm with all the holiday hustle and bustle!!!

Good morning cherries. Been busy busy. DH and I both worked late, including me doing an upgrade for my program. We then left to go vote (we have 2 run-offs going on right now). Then we grabbed something to eat at our local mexican restraunt. 😋  Then home to relax with some TV.

DH was out the door early (he's got things piling up). I threw bedsheets into the washer and then headed for my walk. Had to grab my hat/gloves since we dipped down to 34 this morning. A bit chilly. Back home, showered, had my coffee and paid some bills online. Then I left to go to the PO for stamps and to ship off 2 packages. Then I got home and was about to call the vet's office when they called me to check on Jasmine. She isn't limping all the time...just every once in a while. Her pick-up-and-go is quick and the last few nights, she has been getting on the ottoman, which she used to never do. So we won't be doing xrays just yet. Just keep her on CBD oil. I did schedule her surgery for the cyst removal. That is scheduled for Jan 7th.

Then I called the tamale place and put in our Christmas Eve order. I'll go pick those up at noon on Christmas Eve which is perfect as we will have people over that day around 1pm or so. Then RSVP'd to a casual lunch that the DAR ladies invited me to for this Saturday.

Now it's back to work for me. Hope y'all have a great day.

Sounds like things are going pretty well for you, Brandy! 😊 I hope you have a great day today! 😊
I'm glad Jasmine is doing better and I'll be praying for to continue to get better and for her surgery to go well! 😊

I hope you have a VERY awesome day! 😊

UGH!!  When I park, I try to do it in a row, or just one over either way, from a door. Of course, that makes it harder if you're in a ginormous area. In that case, best to take a pic with your phone where you are. Lots often have numbers or letters and also if you walk straight from your car to the building... first take a pic of the front of the building straight where you're walking to from the car. Then when you leave you can leave from the same spot in front of the building and walk straight back. That's my theory. Haven't tried it yet.

Spent over 6 hours working on the quilt yesteday. Oh my aching back when I stopped for the night. All my rows are done - now I start sewing the rows together. Then I have to add the border. Watched some youtube videos this morning about how to do mitered corners but I'm scared to try it.  I'll decide when I get to that part. The hardest part is going to be when I'm ready to sandwich and quilt. I have very little room and even less right now. I use the living room floor. Good times. Not.
Wow! Good on you getting your quilt sewn up. Mitered corners aren’t that bad. I machine sew binding on the front and hand sew to the back. I have a quilt I am in the process of sandwiching too. I use a bed. My knee I had surgery on last summer doesn’t let me crawl around on floor too much. Happy sewing!

Hey Cherries. We are having rain and a high wind warning. And it is warm. Our temps actually were in the 50s and rising all night, and our high today is expected to be 62. Last week our nights were in the 20s with wind chills in the teens. Crazy weather.

I didn’t get as much done yesterday as I had planned. I had gone to the outlet stores to pick up an order I had placed for Maddie at one of the outlet shops there. I don’t go there very often. It is really nice there but the place is a maze. And there are numerous entrances from the huge parking area. I never remember where this particular shop is when I go and when I went in I looked at the directory and I wasn’t near it at all. After finding it and picking up my order, I am now all turned around as to where I am. And to make matters worse I stupidly did not make note as to what parking lot I was in and what entrance I came in. Just a small recollection of what shops I had passed when I came in. Duh. So to make a long story short it took me 45 minutes to find my car. I thought I would never find it. To put this in perspective, my phone showed that I took over 10,000 steps! When I finally found her I never was so happy to see my car! Next time I go there I will pay more attention to where I park. I’m thinking of putting an air tag in my car!

Today the weather is nasty. I am having a donation pick up tomorrow morning so I am getting some things packed up to put out. Going over to my mom’s house and packing some things up for donation there too. I need to make a stop at Kohls on the way home that I didn’t get to do yesterday. Then back to wrapping gifts.

Have a great day Cherries. And always pay attention to where you park!

Stay warm Barb!!! Sounds like nasty weather. It really has been crazy lately! As for losing your car in a big mall parking lot I’d take a picture of the sign or whatever you parked in and then when you get inside take a picture of the entrance and/or make a note of the stores in that area so you can find it easier. It’s so frustrating! And I don’t miss ANYTHING about it! Lolol! Here if we can’t park in the first row it’s really busy!!!

Hope today is better for you!
Lol. It was more of a matter of me NOT taking note of where I parked and what entrance to the grounds that I went in, which in a place like this you have to do. It's really a nice place with walkways and a plaza in the middle and places you can sit and eat, all outdoors. They had a huge tree all lit up with lights changing to the music that you can see from the parking lot, IF you are facing the right entrance. lol. A very nice atmosphere. Many of the walkways lead to the plaza in the middle, but then there are offshoots. So you really need to pay attention to which walkway entrance you go in from the parking lot. There are numbers in the lots but I was so busy and have had so much going on that I never once gave it a thought. Ugh. Won't do that again.

I think I'm going with regular borders. I plan on quilting diagonal lines anyway and I just can't bring myself to math anymore. LOL I had to do a lot of fudging with seams and I still couldn't get some of them to be on point at the four corners. The blocks alternate single 12 inch with 9 patch 12 inch blocks and when I went to sew the rows together the single piece blocks didn't want to match up with the 9 patch blocks beneath/on top at each edge. Typical.
I need the firm flat surface of the floor (well, mainly firm - it's berber carpet) because I use Elmer's washable glue and an iron to baste the layers together. I picked up this trick last year online when I made my first full size, machine quilted quilt. It was a lifesaver! But yeah, that crawling around on the floor is hard and my knees don't appreciate it either!

Oh Tam! I hope you can get your quilt finished without too much trouble!!! I’m sure the person you’re making the quilt for will be very happy you put so much effort into it!!!

Oh, it's trouble!  It wouldn't be one of my projects without it! (See previous post to MTCanuck about fudging seams.)
Thanks! It's for my daughter. She better be thrilled.

Lol you crack me up Tam! 🤣 I LOVE it!
That's cool that you've gotten so MUCH done on your quilt!   Of course, I'm in awe of anyone that can sew! (I REALLY JUST am lousy at it! )
I hope you have a wonderful day! ☺️

Thanks! I'd like to say I'm in the home stretch but to actually quilt it is going to be a feat. The pressure is on to get this done. It's just about the only way I work.
Hope you had a good day!
