Our family has a "spelling bee" on Thanksgiving LOL! I know it sounds weird but the kids love it. And I buy a chocolate wishbone to give to the winner. It's so fun and I love it...besides the food and family gathering of course!

OK, I know I should say being with the family. But . . . for me, it's setting the table! I love planning and placing all of the dishes and silverware. I love making the name cards, and crafting the centerpieces, picking out the perfect candles, folding the napkins in a fun way. So much fun for me! (Besides, I'm with my family every single day -- I'm blessed with that already!)

OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
While I am not a turkey fan, I love love love the stuffing (made the old-fashioned-probably-not-safe-way...in da bird!), dad won't make the stuffing without the whole turkey. The recipe and techniques are the same as when grandpa was in charge of Thanksgiving. At 85 and 90, my parents still insist on making Thanksgiving dinner with all the traditional New England trimmings and my favorite part is seeing how proud my dad is that he can still do this for his family, and that we get to spend time together eating, telling stories, napping, napping, eating again, and more napping. Togetherness - that's my favorite part.

I have a few "favorite parts" - getting together with family & friends and eating and playing Pokeno after dinner. Also we have a "wall of turkeys" with all the turkey art over the years. We started asking our guests to make their own hand turkeys over the years so it's fun to see how the art and hand sizes have changed over the years!
Happy Scrapping!

Football. Watching the Detroit Lions and then the Dallas Cowboys has been a tradition with my family for as long as I can remember. A great way to spend time together.

Spending time with family. This year we treated the kids to cabins in Gatlinburg with us for Thanksgiving week. I'm excited to show them why we have fallen in love with this area. Natures Beauty.... We are missing our elderly parents this year but will have a special dinner with them when we get home.

Definitely family, food and tradition. I also love making papercraft items for the table, place cards, favors, and napkin rings. I also love playing games and the Macy's day parade!

I love Thanksgiving! The food is the best part because there are so many tasty, comfort foods at our feast. My sister hosts this every year and every family brings a dish to share. It is also nice to see family and catch up with those I don't see regularly. I also like watching all the football games while browsing the online sales. It is also nice to have the day off from work.
My favorite part is the whole family getting together, lots of great food (TONS of mashed potatoes!!!) and lots of fun games!!
And then 3 more days off of work!

Love having the family all together for great food and hours of playing card games. I do miss the days of going through the newspaper ads for the Black Friday sales. Making our list of stores to go to and which to go to first. We would start at 3 am and go all day. Divide and conquer is what we did and always had so much fun.

I won't say family because the only family to see on Thanksgiving Day is my son, and he already is here frequently. We do have a turkey dinner with the fixings (and lots of leftovers the following days). One thing I look forward to is sitting down in the evening, after the leftovers are put away and dishes are done, and having a piece of pie with lots of Cool Whip. Lots of Cool Whip. So I think pie with Cool Whip may be my favorite thing about Thanksgiving!

Eating turkey and trifle (our new American/British tradition) and then everyone lolling about watching a silly movie like Dumb and Dumber.

My favorite thing is cooking and baking, and seeing my family enjoy the food. Of course, I love having my family together, spending time with them and sharing laughs. Thankful for sure! Happy Thanksgiving to the entire ACOT staff!
