We are hosting Turkey Day! Both of DD's and their families. There will be 12 of us and possibly 14. Turkey with all of the trimmings including pumpkin and pecan pies.Mommytron wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:34 amSo, to add to the chatter, who is traveling and who is hosting Thanksgiving dinner? I hope no one will be alone!! Come over for dinner to my house, it is just my husband and my two lovely daughters for turnkey dinner, homemade rolls, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, haven’t figured out the vegetables yet…

Good Morning!
Here in northern Ohio it's chilly, drizzly, and gray. Personally, I love it! I've been up since 5:00 this morning. Got my walk done, bills paid, a meatloaf made, and a cake baked! Letting it cool so I can frost it in a bit.
You're all welcome to come over for cake!!

OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
That's sounds like a wonderful time! Enjoy and stay warm.Breauxlabs wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:02 amGood morning,
About to have my second cup of coffee in the Smoky Mountains. We are here till Dec. 1. We rented a couple cabins for the kids for Thanksgiving week so we will all be here and I'll cook a small meal for dinner. We'll have our feast for Christmas. Its a cold 48 degrees so ready to stay in and get some scrapping done!
We had the rain last night but lots of sunshine today! What kind of cake?Laura wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:07 amGood Morning!

Our Thanksgiving will be just the four of us -- and that's just how I want it! This year, there will be no turkey, though. We are going with a ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, tons of different breads and rolls, and potato salad. Also, no pumpkin pie. This year it will be a French Silk chocolate pie for the family, and a cheesecake for me!

It’s a chilly one out there at only 28F.

We have the same weather as you, I think. I finished the first challenge already so I probably will work out before lunch. Then I am playing bridge this afternoon and I walk there so I get some nice weather and some socializing.
As for Thanksgiving, we are hosting. It will only be 5 of us this year which is kind of sad, but we are now a 2 generation family and my husband's siblings are doing their thing. (one has kids home from a college who don't want to drive not he day, like us, and the other is leaving the country for the weekend - long story). So, given that are are kosher, have people with celiac, a vegetarian, and multiple food allergies among the 5 of us, we cannot order in or go out so we will be making an entire turkey and all the whatevers for 5 people. We now have an agreed menu at least, and I got people to agree that we only need one type of pie and no potatoes.

There will b just 5 of us old folks at Thanksgiving dinner. My 2 DS’s, my 93 year old aunt, my widower BIL and myself. Usually have my widowed friend too but this year she’s going down south for 2 weeks at her brothers place and Thanksgiving. I may also invite my neighbor who’s been taking care of and feeding Rosie if she has no plans. She’s single and her only kid lives a two hour drive away and unfortunately they don’t get along.

What a lovely gesture so that she's not alone.
Stinks that I'm stuck at work though I plan to leave early so I can play with my papers. I am SO far behind on my challenge projects!!! On my second cup of coffee and am looking forward to afternoon tea with cookies!

Lol my Thanksgiving plans are STILL up in the air!
I tried a month ago to see if my family needed me to request off for Thanksgiving and basically my SIL JUST invited us this week! So, idk if the boss will let me off that day or not, because others have requested off for it already .
Either way, there will be food at work LOL!
I'm gonna go check out some of these challenges. A fun way to spend a sick day lol!
