Scrap a Day, November 13th
Hey Cherries. Another day of adulting. Have a meeting this afternoon with my sister regarding my mom, and while I’m in the area I have some returns to make at a few stores. Slowly catching up here on the boards. Closed out one challenge yesterday and will work on closing out the other one today. Plus have some things that need to be done around the house. Still catching up here too. The sun is shining but it’s chilly and windy. Only 42 right now with a wind chill of 36. Winter jacket and ankle boots are now in use.

Have a great day Cherries.

Good luck with all of that Barb.

I have another day with not much on the agenda. I started out in my craft room but I have multiple things drying so I think I need to take a break. I have 3 things mid-way done which is a lot for me. if I start yet another page, I will lose my train of thought.

Weather is a bit cold here today also, I'm sure I will walk somewhere.

I've started thinking about thanksgiving menu. I don't like any of the traditional foods but my family does and expects them so I find the whole menu thing quite stressful. Add to that the fact that we are only 2 generations this year which makes it hard. I have an old uncle I would like to invite but I'm not sure he can get here even if he wants to come. I like the idea of thanksgiving very much but thinking about it is very stressful this year.

Anyway, enough whining, have a great day everyone!

Hey Cherries 😊
I spent the day JUST relaxing and hunting cherries yesterday lol! I DO find it inspiring to look at all the goodies here! My wishlist is too long! 😜
I'm having some coffee now and then I have to get ready for work. Lol I feel like I'm fighting off another cold, so I may pick up some cold meds. 🤷🏻 Our temperatures dipped; it's 46 now; I'm not sure how warm it's supposed to be but I guess it doesn't matter as I'll be working LOL!
Stay blessed, Cherries! 🍒❤️😊

Good morning cherries. Continuous hugs for you Barb.

Another busy work day yesterday but not stressful. Up early again today and went on my walk, threw bed sheets in the washer and uploaded a couple of fixes to the server before my client's staff start accessing the program. Finished off some Christmas shopping for the nephews yesterday and today. Now I just wait for things to arrive and who knows, might start wrapping things. Who knows!

I'll take a break from work at 11am to start getting ready. The DAR ladies invited me to their monthly casual lunch again, so I'm going to that at noon. Then back home to work.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm sorry Thanksgiving is stressful, especially the menu. Maybe with fewer people this year, you can downsize the dishes? Maybe make a variation of a "traditional" dish you don't like for something you do like. As I've gotten older and started hosting Thanksgiving since 2019 (we used to go to my grandparents house in the 90s and early 2000s, then moving it to my aunt's ranch house in late 2010 until 2018), DH and I as well as my brother and SIL, we keep changing things up. I don't think we've had the exact same thing each time. I also delegate too. This year, DH will smoke the turkey. I'll make garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and heat up rolls. My SIL makes the stuffing (she uses Stove Top, which is fine by me...not a fan of traditional homemade stuffing...always too dry), green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. Our side dishes keep changing. We all just go with the flow. All we care about is we enjoy each other's company.

problem here is I'm mostly vegetarian so I don't eat the turkey. We need to make gluten-free stuffing because people have allergies and I don't like it. I don't like potatoes and can't stand sweet potatoes/yams.  So I'm stuck eating vegetables and cranberries. And cranberries are really all sugar so that's not a meal. We keep kosher so we can't add a dairy dish to the mix. And hate to cook. My sister will do a lot of it, but I can't just desert her in my kitchen. And I am opposed to pie, I think it is the stupidest of all desserts - I have emotional baggage attached to pie. But my kids expect what they think is traditional and they are at the age where I want them to keep coming for thanksgiving so I want to keep them happy. . And up until this year, my mother-in-law, who also kept kosher and loved to cook would bring something for me to eat. When I was a kid, I remember driving back from my aunt's and asking what would be for dinner and being told there was no dinner because we had thanksgiving dinner at lunchtime, and no one cared that I would be hungry at dinner time. I love the family aspects but it will be upsetting this year without any grandparents. Sorry to whine, I know there are so many people who would be happy to have this food.

Re: Scrap a Day, November 13th
Howdy.  Boy I am still tired and achy from yesterday but it was worth it.  All 3 grandkids even the sulky 16 year old.  Shopping in Cocoa Village, gawking at the big Disney cruise ships in the harbor  up close, spending lots of $$ in Ron Jon’s, and playing in the surf at Cocoa Beach.  Nothing rest of the week though but DGD basketball game Saturday.

and yeah I’m already planning Thanksgiving dinner in my head too.  So few of us anymore and my 55 year old YDS is the youngest one at the table.  I fix traditional dinner, turkey, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, blk olives and pie.  Instead of hot veggies or salad I put a plate of various raw veggies/ bottles of salad dressing.

and then there’s Christmas.  I’ve ordered one Christmas gift.  That’s it!  But I have accumulated a lengthy list from the grandkids of what they want!  lol. I don’t decorate till Black Friday or get a tree till about two weeks before Christmas.  Oh well, I’ve got nothing but time.  lol

have a wicked good Wednesday!

It was a semi stressful day for me since my brother came up to get some signed checks for his rent. I won't bore you with details. Most of you know he is schizophrenic and has not dealt with the recent election well. He seemed good today so I'm praying he continues to stay under control.
