Growing up in the 80's and 90's - this was definitely one of my favorite shows and board games. I wanted to appear on the tv game show so much! I can say that I probably learned more about geography and world facts from this show than most of my time in school. This show made me want to learn! And I'm hoping this challenge will make you want to create!!
This is Carmen Sandiego - there's many concepts of her but the one we are going to focus on is Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? She's a fictional villian that is the ringleader of the criminal organization V.I.L.E., crooks who go around stealing world treasures and artifacts like the Great Pyramid in Egypt or the Great Wall in China, the Washington Monument in D.C. or the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
Each month, I will pick a specific location that Carmen has been seen and you are to take inspiration from that location and make a project. You could be inspired by maybe the colors that are reminiscent of that location or the flag of the country, something about the geography of the location - for example if she was seen in Paris - you could take inspiration from the long Seine River and have a long title for your page or maybe you're inspired by the Eiffel Tower and you have tall design elements for your project. Maybe she was seen in Dallas and you could be inspired by the Dallas Cowboys star emblem or rodeos? There is bound to be a ton of things you could be inspired by for the locations.
The Rules:
For each new project, you will be entered to randomly win a $5 ACOT gift card. In addition, some months there will be a bonus element or idea for an entry for a stash goodie bag. BONUS element activated for September!
There is no maximum number of entries - however each entry must use a different source of inspiration!
Challenge is open to layouts, cards, decor projects, etc. - if you aren't sure, just ask!
You may combine with any monthly challenge that allows and also the bi-monthly challenge.
Please post your entries here in this post.
All submissions are due by November 30, 2024 @ 11:59pm EST
Any questions, feel free to ask!
Carmen hopped on a plane and according to the ticketing agent at the airport, she was headed towards Rome, Italy! Could she be going there to try and steal the Great Colosseum? Was she going to toss coins in the Trevi Fountain? Maybe she was going to take in the sights and see the Pantheon and St. Peter's Basilica? Rome - known as the Eternal City is also home to the Sistine Chapel, with it's famous paintings on the ceilings, some amazing foods like pastas and gelato and so many more things! I'm sure you will find something there to spark your creativity for this month's challenge! Now hurry - Carmen's got a big head start on you!
Thanks for the challenge.
Just call me Nan - it's short and sweet

To me, Rome is the noisiest city in the world, I don't really like it for that reason. So this layout is about the noisiest "hotel" we ever stayed at and the journaling talks about the noise. Different noise than Rome, if you asked me what were the noisiest places I have ever stayed, it would be Rome and this little hotel.
