THIS challenge has helped me hold myself accountable, gotten me in touch with similar resources, and so forth…. It's been a GOOD snowball-rolling-down-a-hill effect for me!
Any specific goals for November? How did October go for everyone?
Stash Busting: I HAVE been continuing to do a LOT of art journaling HOWEVER, I finished an unfinished layout, and was happy to do it! ALSO used a brand new paper AND a whole package of bling n jewel stickers on a new layout! So, that's awesome to me! It's the little things!Work and health issues had me down, but I've been creating page kits with papers and photos, so I can JUST grab them and get to it! Spend Smart: OH yes, I was SO TEMPTED to shop! (I DID add new things to my cart, though!) LOL! I'm sorta out of room for embellishments - AND paper! I STILL want those new stencils and stamps, though, along with several more mixed media supplies. I used to have more room for storage and creating than I do now, though, and I tend to forget that sometimes! Oh well…I WILL admit to buying a new large butterfly stencil on Amazon, because I used to have an awesome large butterfly stencil and miss it. It didn't cost too MUCH, and I figured one little purchase was reasonable to replace an item I no longer have but wish I did. November Spend Smart/Stash Bust Goals I'm sorta out of room for new paper and embellishments, and need to continue to organize, and finish up projects and use my stash. I'm excited to use all the page kits I've been creating, and hope to have more crafty time this month! I ALSO signed up for Stacy's Teams Challenge! I'm challenging myself to have MORE scrappy time this month, AND to bust up some MORE stash! ESPECIALLY trying to keep better track of my 100 papers! Hopefully I get some pages and cards done!As far as smart spending goes, I'm getting better at planning my purchases. I have been looking forward to Black Friday, and have specific products in mind to buy. A FEW things, NOT TONS!
Stash Busting - October was a tough month for me in many ways so I barely did anything crafty. I only did 3 layouts and about 10 cards. BUT 5 of those cards were Christmas cards and except for the sentiment inside they're done. So that's a big deal for me because I'm usually scrambling at the last minute just to get them in the mail by Christmas Day!
Buying... I did buy some but it was all for my cards as well as albums for the over 300 layout pages I didn't put in albums yet. I think I'm going to need 3 or 4 more albums to finish them!!! That'll teach me not to just pile them up and leave them for 2 years again! I also bought 2 of the Simple Stories Sn@p albums and ordered pictures for Christmas gifts.
November will be busy making cards and layouts for the albums. I'm determined to have them ready to mail by the 2nd Thursday in December at the very latest!
As far as busting stash in November we will see. I'm going to try to do Flasher's Halloween Party layouts and work on cards in between...

So October was kind of odd for me. I had very little scrappy goals since I was originally booked every weekend except the last one. HOWEVER....after just a few days into the month..POOF! Two events got canceled! But then I babysat the nephews more often...lol..so that's a wash, maybe? Anywho....I only expected to do like 2 or 3 layouts but managed to squeeze in SEVEN. I also managed to wrap up Draven's 4th bday. So I still call that a win!
I made two very small purchases. I took advantage of ACOT's FREESHIP one day only sale and stocked up on adhesive! Very much needed. Then yesterday, taking advantage of the current sale, I bought Carta Bella's Best in Show collection, adding it to my HOLD ORDERS. Spent less than $30 yesterday!
This month is another busy one...so I'm going to just keep trucking with scrapping the nephews' birthdays and the only purchase I'm planning on making will be during ACOT's epic Black Friday Sale! That's when I lose my mind and go wild!

Last month October:
Spend Smart - I do need to get some page protectors this month and maybe an album. Not counting those I want to keep my budget at $70 (including shipping). I am hoping to spend less - may need some cardstock for cards.
Stash Bust - Since it is October I have to work on cards . I have 1 birthday and many Halloween cards to make. I should have what I need for them. I also want to get some LOs done for challenges - maybe 15 pages.
How I did - I was trying to stay under $70 (not including basics) and went a little over. I also had to load up on white and cream cardstock and card bases (needed for the holidays). I also bought a few tools - a guillotine trimmer 12x12 with a drawer, new scissors. Though I spent more than I had anticipated; it is all things that I needed and got most of it 40% off at HL I did get 19 cards done and 18 pages - so I feel good about that.
November:
Spend Smart - Since this month has Black Friday in it, I am going to set a budget of $150 - with the hopes of spending less. I just want to be prepared if I see something that I absolutely have to have.
Stash Bust - Again going to be working a lot on cards this month (and next) for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Will be trying for 15 pages again this month in addition to the cards.

You're doing so well,Ginni! LOVE that you've ALREADY started on your Christmas cards! I ALSO think that albums make amazing gifts!
MAYBE they'll be some Black Friday deals on albums???! I have not always put away layouts before but WOW! You have quite the stack! I think it's great you're FINALLY getting a chance to put them into albums! (The album struggle is real! Lol!)
I'm proud of you for ONLY buying what you've planned for! That's DEFINITELY smart spending!
Good luck to you this month!

October was strangely busy for me, too, Brandy! (I worked WAY MORE than I wanted LOL!) It's great that you were able to scrap more than you thought you were going to be able to! I ALSO think it's awesome that you've getting those birthday layouts done, too!blbabe1234 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:37 pmSo October was kind of odd for me. I LOVE your smart spending, too!! I didn't think to stock up on adhesive, but I usually do!
Getting that ONE collection you've had your eye on IS VERY smart, too! At one point I struggled with that ... I LOVE the HOLD orders they've incorporated here! I'm taking advantage of that NOW! It's DEFINITELY a win-win, too!
I hope you get those epic Black Friday deals that you desire! Smart spending for sure!
I ALSO hope you find some EXTRA scrappy time this month!

ALL good stuff here, Susan! I LOVE that you're sharing your strategies with us! I keep taking notes lol!
White and cream cardstock is DEFINITELY a staple of mine, too, and occasionally I stock up on it. I like to buy card bases instead of making my own, too- less work, more play time, right?!
I LOVE that your making cards AND layouts, too! That'll use some stash! AND I NEED motivation to do my cards!
I ALSO REALLY love that you've got a big budget set for Black Friday! It's great to be able to get those deals, and budgeting is WAY smarter than JUST buying!!! I hope you get lots of good deals!
I REALLY appreciate your participation in this challenge - it can be hard at times to stick to my goals, and you Cherries are helping me with that!
JUST jumped in to say that I LOVE the additional Black Friday deals!
I JUST bought two of the stamps sets that I've been wanting, AND am using the HOLD orders feature for a combined shipping when I'm done shopping all the sales!
I've been using stamps more and MORE, so occasionally I can justify buying some new ones! (I ALSO bought some cat themed stamps at a different store this week- my cats are my babies, though, and I don't have enough cat themed supplies!)
I've spent less than I budgeted for ALREADY!
ALSO, I have ALREADY done two layouts this month, so I'm feeling good about that, too! Busting stash AND shopping smart is what it's all about here! Cherries, thank you for the continued encouragement!
