Hand stitching/embroidery help and advice
I'm hoping to try hand stitching/embroidery on my cards and layouts.  Anyone on here do this currently??

I found these in the ACOT store, would these work?  I need the top to be big enough to get the embroidery thread thru as well.

Any tips for tricks, I'd love to know!
Thanks Cherries!

i have found that pretty much any needle will work.  if it has too big of an eye, you're going to end up with huge holes.  if you get a cheap needle-threader you don't need a large eye.  here  is a really inexpensive option.  HTH!

Ohh this is so helpful!!  Do you have any needle recommendations that are here on ACOT?  I'll get the needle-threader too.  Are the ones I added to big?

Thanks!!

These needles are slim but have an elongated eye for threading floss. Also the sizes are assorted so you can experiment and find which size you're most comfortable with.
When you poke your holes in the paper, make sure they are just big enough to pull the threaded needle through without tugging the paper - a sure way to get kinks and creases!
And don't forget to wash your hands before starting - it's heartbreaking to get inky fingerprints on your work.

I haven't used mine in a while, but I absolutely love my Sew-Easy!  It punches the holes in a line (or a curved line) without much effort...just run it alongside a straightedge or a ruler!

I used to hand stitch on my pages frequently, but haven't in years. The thread is inspiring me to dig out my sew easy and needles and start again. I have so many colors of floss and twine and yarn that I can use.

There was also a mat that came with mine back in the day, that helped with the piercer tool.  i used to use mine quite a bit but I personally like a smaller hole that I can make with the needle.  But I do like it very much, for me might be dependant on what I am stitching and how much room that you have, do you have curves that are tight or just straight lines etc.

here is the pic of the mat, it helped alot with that tool.
