I love stencil butters! I am looking for a white stencil medium similar to the butters. I didn’t want to purchase the whole 4-pack that has a shimmery lovely white, as I don’t think I would use all of it. (All right, yes, I have a lot of the butters too). Does anyone have any suggestions what I can use/purchase? Thanks in advance!

I have a jar of Pearl white stencil butter that I bought at ACOT as an individual jar. I love it and have mixed colors with it too. The Stencil Butter is by far better than any other medium that I've used. Maybe they can order for you? Maybe NUVO paste? When I first starting using pastes, I bought Golden and Liquitex. However, nothing compares to the Stencil Butter.
I also have the Pearl White Stencil Butter and I love it. I have also mixed it with other colors as Vicki said. I love using them they are a really great medium and yes once I started buying them I had to have all the colors lol.
What about using a smooth texture paste? You could mix white glitter or mica powder into it to get cool effects.

I know it’s not Stencil Butter, but what about Simon Hurley’s white astro paste. I found his product is very good also.
Sometimes I find the way you apply the paste will give a different look. Sometimes I apply it through a stencil using a damp stencil brush rather than a palette and it comes out smoother.

I find the stencil butter bleeds and I don't get a distinct image like I do with texture paste. Any suggestions? seems the rest of you don't have this problem. I've been eying that astro paste as well since I have a better experience with the lunar and solar paste.

I find the 3 oz dries out before I finish using it up so 3 little ones might better. I can tell you what I think of them in a few months..

I love Simon Hurley's pastes as well. And I have used them with a stencil brush too and the effect is quite different. The solar pastes, especially on a dark background, will show their color more with a thin brush stroke than when applied thickly with a palette knife.

Just call me Nan - it's short and sweet
I love using stencils but am not familiar yet with all the paste/butter options, so this thread is very helpful!!
