packing for a 3-day crop
A couple of you mentioned that you were curious how someone would pack for a crop. So I took pics this morning as I packed up for the weekend crop I'm going to.
Image Image
First of all, I don't usually pack this much. I can usually get everything in my wagon. Packing all the "team supplies" and my dies and sizzix took up more room this time.
So, in my wagon, I have my fold-n-file loaded with page kits. Under them I have my box of kiwi lane templates. I also packed my cricut, folding 4' table, and mat. Later I added my sizzix fold-away beside my page kits.
NEXT PHOTO
In my elephant bag I start with a wire shelf, tower, & waste basket with a few things inside it.

Image Image
Then I added some more kiwi lane templates, enamel dots, trimmer, t-square rulers are there somewhere. Also I added some spray inks and later I added my sizzix plates for my machine.
NEXT PHOTO
The left box is supplies for the team (GO TEAM FLASHER) challenge. The right box are mostly cardstock scraps, but I threw in some plastic packaging, a bag of gold foil paper scraps, and a couple sheets of black pp.

Image
This 31 bag has some smaller bags: tool bag, pencil/pen bag, bag of distress inks with daubers and reinkers, & border punches. I'm bringing my ATG gun, some wipes, and Xron with a refill. You can't see my craft mat for mixed media but it's rolled up in there. And I put one of the boxes in this bag.

Image
Here is the wagon ready to go! I laid the bag of dies on top and squeezed the other box in! When I pack my SUV, I have to unload the wagon and reload when I get to the crop. I also take my laptop and a foldable waterproof blanket that I will bring, just incase I have to haul my stuff in or out in the rain.

I go to a crop almost every month in Indy. It's one that I come home from every night so I don't have to pack so much. This weekend isn't far, but I don't plan on coming home til Sunday!

How do you all pack? Are you over-packers? Just take the minimum?

Wow!  That's some organization right there!  You're sure to get a lot of scrapping done!  And you are right . . .

GO TEAM FLASHER!  😋
OCD is not an adjective.  It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized.  It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. 💙 I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son. 💙

I think you pack very compact. I also think it is great you are able to attend a crop. They haven’t hosted one in my area since before Covid. I like to make page kits for a crop. That usually prevents me from over packing. Have an awesome, fun scrappy time!

Joannie,

We pack alike. My wagon looks pretty much like yours when I travel to crops. I try to plan ahead with lots of page kits that just need to be assembled and take lots of options to dress up my pages.

Wish I had a place to crop on a regular basis. I love scrapping with others because I always learn something new.

Hope you have a great crop.

Looks great Joannie.  I am still ordering pics and have yet to get a kit made.  Lots of ideas though.  If you need more practice packing come on over and help me.  JK.  I am looking forward to this weekend and hope that I have my mojo back to get some scrapping done.

I definitely overpack and no matter what my back is killing me the whole weekend from bending, lifting etc. But lately I have been trying to pack lighter and lighter. As long as I can get things organized just taking what is needed is best. I have a friend who literally has her car full. It takes 2 loads on the luggage cart to bring her stuff in lol.

It just takes a few page kits to get ya started!! & If you need to use a sizzix machine this weekend, you can use mine. Is there anything I need to pack to help ya out? I have packed the 49 and Market washi for Julie.

You sure know how to pack! Hope you have a fabulous time at the crop and get tons of stuff done!

I haven't been "away" to a crop in about a decade, but when I used to have to pack up and go, I used an XL Scrapping Rolling Tote from Hobby Lobby. It had so many compartments, I managed to fit everything in there.

Come to Indiana!! The place I'm going to this weekend is a retreat house. It holds 8 people. A few Cherries are coming! Sandi and Julie and two cherries who participate in the Envies. I agree, scrapping with others is FUN!!!

Re: packing for a 3-day crop
I have gotten better at packing for crops. I made up page kits last time and I definitely felt more organized and completed more layouts. My problem with crops are the chairs. I have a bad back and end up hurting for weeks after. I saw a lady bring her own chair and just put her stuff in it and wheeled it in. I may do that next time. I have a great office chair in my craft room.

I used to have an XL Crop In Style when I first going to crops. I outgrew it really fast. LOL!

You are very organized. I haven't been to a crop in many years and I have never stayed over. I used to go to one in a hotel about 2 miles from where I lived at the time so I would go home if I forgot something or just wanted something different.

At my monthly crops at a church, I do bring my own chair. Sitting on those cold, hard folding chairs for hours are awful!! I used to stand up a lot (when I was younger!). LOL

Joannie, thank you for showing us! Looks great, compact and everything you will need... So, the strategy is to make a lot of page kits. Half job done at the house and second half at the crop, when you putting it all together... I've never been to the crop.

I enjoy the crops where I can spend the night. I can stay up late to scrap or wake up early and start scrapping! (I'm usually the first to go to bed and then the first to get started in the morning.)
