NSD-WINNER--Sonja's Margarita Reveal Challenge - Part 2
Hello, Cherries!
We have a winner! STACY LEE
Image

Welcome to my Fiesta—a party within a party to celebrate
Cinco de Mayo and NSD!
This thread is the 2nd half of the Margarita Reveal challenge.

If you haven’t already posted on the Sneak Peek, please go there now and make your selections.
You will find Part 1 here:
NSD Sneak Peek: It's Margarita Time! - ACOT Message Board (acherryontop.com)
DON’T SCROLL DOWN UNTIL YOU HAVE POSTED ON THE SNEAK PEEK!
 Image
As I shared in the Sneak Peek, Cinco De Mayo is one of my favorite celebrations. I love the joyful spirit, the great food, and the fabulous margaritas. Many cities and towns in California have activities that highlight the cultural contributions of our Mexican neighbors.

Parades may feature Mariachi bands, children dressed in native costumes, heritage dancers, horse-mounted caballeros, and vintage cars. Food vendors present such a large variety of choices from many states and districts of Mexico, it can be overwhelming but exciting to try new flavors and dishes.

Many of the cities in California have Spanish names, particularly those of the saints: San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and of course, Los Angeles, City of the Angels.

When California students are in the 4th grade, one of the Social Studies assignments is to learn about the history of missions in early California development. Schools that are close enough to one of the 21 missions located between San Diego and Sonoma, will take a field trip to explore and learn about mission architecture, agriculture, and life before the Gold Rush. The influence of Spanish traditions is evident to the present day in Mexico, California, Arizona, and Texas.

I hope to share some fun bits of trivia and lore during my 2 hours as NSD hostess.
SO, ARE YOU READY FOR THE FIRST CHALLENGE?
PLEASE DON’T PROCEED UNTIL YOU HAVE POSTED ON THE SNEAK PEEK THREAD!
Go here to post your choices for Part 1:
NSD Sneak Peek: It's Margarita Time! - ACOT Message Board (acherryontop.com)
Part 1 closes at midnight EST on Sunday, May 7, 2023
Here goes………The prize for this challenge is the Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush Mini Album Kit generously donated by American Crafts. Isn’t that a sweet prize?Image
NSD rules for entries are that each entry must be new.
Entries cannot be combined with any other Message Board challenges or any other NSD challenge.
It is OK to combine with the 25 item challenge.
For this challenge – only 1 entry per person. (After all, it wouldn’t be your favorite margarita if you had more than one, would it?)
Entry into the contest gallery closes on Monday, 05/15/2023 at midnight EST

There is a special gallery for this challenge. When you upload a picture and description of your entry, please be sure to click “Add Submission to Contests/Challenges” and select NSD 2023-Favorite Margarita Reveal.
The prize winner will be randomly selected from the entries in that gallery.
In the description of your upload, please indicate your favorite margarita and the 3 elements you included to satisfy the challenge.

For this challenge you will have 3 elements to include on your layout, card, mini-album, traveler’s journal or other paper-craft, mixed media or décor item. The elements you must use are dictated by the choices you posted on the sneak peek thread.
  1. You were to select the type of margarita you prefer:
    1. On the rocks
    2. Blended
    3. Shot
  2. You were to select a flavor
  3. You were to select the rim dressing:
    1. Salt
    2. Sugar
    3. Bare
If you forgot your choices, pop back and retrieve them.  NSD Sneak Peek: It's Margarita Time! - ACOT Message Board (acherryontop.com)

OK, I have delayed long enough, hopefully, to make sure all participants have made their choices on the sneak peek before reading the requirements.

Here we go….

This is what I would like you to do with your choices:
  1. Depending on your choice:
    1. On the rocks---include something related to nature on your project
    2. Blended---pick one of the following "blends":
      1. Family and friends
      2. Pets and people
      3. Work and play
      4. Dark and light
      5. Near and far
      6. Happy and sad
    3. Shot---include some holes in layers of your project (example: punch or die cut some holes in the top layer of paper so the bottom layer shows through)
  2. The flavor you picked will be the predominant color of your project. For example, I chose strawberry so pink or red would be my predominant color. If you chose lime, it would be green. Use the color that best represents the flavor you selected.
  3. Depending on your rim choice:
    1. Salt---include elements that are angular and geometric
    2. Sugar---include elements that are soft and feminine
    3. Bare---clean and simple with at least 30% open space (doesn’t need to be white, although white looks great, it could also be plain cardstock in a solid color)
That’s it! Go have fun! Let the fiesta begin!

Oh this is so fun!!! So much thought put into it, bravo!

My blended raspberry with sugar is going to be a complete 180 from my masculine & messy grungy layout I’m doing for Sandys challenge right now!

And here I thought you were going to be delivering a yummy margarita to our door!  But since that's not the case, it's a really creative challenge.

Brought back some memories of making a styrofoam mission with my dad. I had to have the small brass bells for it. :)
