But not for people, for OBJECTS!
Is there anything in your home or at work that you have given a name to? I've got a couple. My car is "Ruby". My washer and dryer are "Peaches and Herb". That came about because as a baby/toddler my son was terrified of them both, and whenever I needed to wash his blankey or his little stuffed buddies he would go into a serious frenzy. He was convinced the washer would "eat them" and he'd never see his things again. So when it came time to wash those things, Mike and I would refer to them as "Peaches and Herb". It worked for a while, and he eventually outgrew the fear, but they are still known as "Peaches and Herb" 20 years later!
Oh, and my treadmill has a name, too. I call her "Mommie Dearest".
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
My 17 year old bought a car that came with a name. Her 2007 VW Bug is Mallory.

I never really named my appliances or anything but hubby and his brother do. Hubby has a spare motor for his race car that has been named Old Faithful.
Its not the fastest motor and it is a spare, but if we ever burn up a motor during a race, he pulls Old Faithful out of her tote and buts her on the car. She comes
to life and keeps us in the race!
His brother (I think it actually started with his wife) give his cars names. Female names! Well last year he rolled out with a car that he
let some dufus paint for free. As he is rolling it out of the trailer, I yelled TACO!!! It hed the colors that Taco Bell has on its buildings.
And then I said that every time I see that car, I crave tacos! Everyone laughed and that name stuck. I think his other car was Emily.

I named our Camaro, "Cammie". Not real original, for sure. The SUV is Rosie because it is red and my Harley is Pearl. No names for anything in the house.

Our GPS is Sally and has been for many years. DH's phone on Waze is Suzie.

My cell phone ring tone is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. So we call my phone Crazy - and she is a she. As in "Steven - have you seen Crazy? I can't find her anywhere!"

My car (2010 VW Beetle) is named Humphrey. My license plate is Bugarti (combining Bug with Art and referencing Bugatti...he's my little, German sportscar. lol) Anyway, Humphrey Bugarti. lol None of my students get it. Haha!

We call our GPS Jezebel, she used to get us into some weird predicaments and not lead us into the correct path....

Y'all crack me up! In my first apartment I had a small room I called My Oasis- it was my first tiny art room! My sister used to have a car she called Jitterbug- after a wreck, it would sometimes shake a little bit like it was dancing lol
Not much gets named. But our cleaning irobot got named after my mum because she was such a cleaning fanatic - Junebug!

What FUN this is!!! My parents had a giant old 70s car that they called "The 747" because the last 3 numbers on the license plate was 747.
When we first moved here we didn't have any structure to move into so we had to build it. There was an electric pole at the top of the driveway but we had nothing to hook it up to. So we had a $100 Harbor Freight generator that we call "Old Reliable" because it always starts with just one pull! We used it every day for construction and every night so I could watch a DVD until I fell asleep. When the gas ran out the generator turned off. I watched the entire Downton Abbey series on a tiny 7" portable DVD screen! I've since watched it twice more on my TV. LOL! We had that and a giant cooler that we used for our refrigerator until we got electricity almost 3 months after we moved here. That's the only service we get. We have no trash pickup, no city water (we collect rain and supplement with a mountain stream when necessary) and no sewer (we have a septic system). We'd go for another form of power if we could but we haven't finished building the new house yet so that will have to wait awhile. Oh and we have a satellite dish for internet which is how we watch TV. Nothing live.

Our truck is called "The Punisher" and BF calls our local bar the gym - hahaha. Other than that, I really don't name objects, unless there is something wrong. Then, there are many words/names that come to mind!
