I used gold liquitex acrylic ink for splatters and dylusions paint under my title instead of a label.
Oh my goodness I want to scraplift this! What a perfect graduation page. Love it!
When I first started scrapbooking, I used paint on my layouts ALL the time. It was my favorite technique. Then, after I had kids, I moved away from that because I felt like it took too much time, and my scrapping time is now so limited. But, today, I had set aside the day for scrapping, so I was excited to paint on my page! I replaced the large photo mat in the middle with green and pink paint, and I used the empty space where the paint shows in the bottom right, as my journaling block. Thanks for this challenge!
Yay Rachel! I'm so glad you went back to your roots. Haha. I love your painting. That's a great way to get the perfect pop of color even if you'd on't have the right paper! This is a super fun page!!rachel0017 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 9:43 pmWhen I first started scrapbooking, I used paint on my layouts ALL the time. It was my favorite technique. This was a really fun challenge, thanks! I don't use mixed media a lot but enjoy it. I used to favor texture paste but lately my favorite is to make a watercolor with Distress Oxides, which I did here. I used Salty Ocean for the background & also some Mustard Seed to splatter with some Dylusions ink spray, too. After that dried, I stamped on top of it as a border for each side of my photo mat. I also LOVE Laura Whitaker's sketches & have lots of the same ones in my Pinterest, too! I used one of hers for inspiration

Oh wow, Stacy! I absolutely adore this! I love that your crisp, clean style is still there even tho you got "messy" !!! This is a fabulous layout!
Here is the sketch I used
Instead of sewing the outside line of stitching and adding the flowers, I added ink. I'm not very good at mixed media but I do like how this turned out

I think this is FABULOUS! You ARE very at mixed media! Love this page!
I have never done mixed media nor do I have anything to do it with...except I do have stickles and could use an ink pad with stamp or make a circle???
What do you think?

Here is my take on the challenge. I used texture paste and mixed it with color mist to create the "mud". I then misted some gold color shine to add a little extra flair to it. I also used Nuvo drops (although I'm not sure that's technically mixed media! LOL)
And here is the Becky Fleck sketch I used

First of all - this is incredible!
2nd of all - Nuvo takes forever to dry - totally mixed media! LOL
great layout!!

For my layout, I took texture paste and mixed it with Vicki Boutin's pigment powders and applied it through a stencil. And then put lots of sprinkles with Heidi Swapp Color Shine. Yes, I do play with mixed media, but don't really like too.

I love this! The pinks are lovely!
I just wanted to bump this up!
I also wanted to show another example - I tend to put MM into my sketches all the time & I just so happened to do it with StacyLee's sketch challenge for NSD!
This one didn't even have anything where I put MM, but since there was blank space on my cardstock I went for it - anything goes!!

Here is one from me! I used my Shimelle Sketch for this week and replaced the journaling with some Tim Holtz Grit Paste and Distress Oxides.
I wanted to do the layout with triangles, but couldn't get a decent triangle no matter how many times I tried. Then I was going to do the hexagon layout, but ended up cutting pentagons! I was getting so frustrated as to why I couldn't get them to layout nicely when I finally realized my mistake. So here is my pentagon layout...lol. I used gel medium with glitter and then paint for my mixed media feather background.

OMG talk about a happy accident! This is so unique and fun!
I couldn't figure out how to crop out the one I wanted, but I used the middle sketch with the rainbow for my layout.
Here is the sketch I worked with, taking the blurry grey behind the layers, as well as on the circle that is a clock in the original and using mixed media to stencil on brown coffee rings.

I used one of the sketches you posted for inspiration and I used some acrylic paint to create the paint splatters.
Thanks for the fun challenge.
