If I have all the things that go with a line, I keep it together. If I only have parts, then I keep them by type.
On a molecular level, I'm very busy.

I sort by themes and also color. I don't store my paper with my embellies.

I store by theme - paper, embellies, ribbons, etc; then by color

I still have tons of paper supplies, and specific embellies go with the paper lines. Otherwise, if I just have the paper, it'll all alphabetical by manufacturer. Embellies that aren't specific to a line are all stored by item.

I store everything by type and then down by color/theme. I do have a couple of files that have everything together as I have a plan for the specific line (at the time of filing, lol).... My problem is actually scrapping in a timely manner to remember what my plan was!
