To take a break from Cherryland for a bit, I thought of what kind of challenge I personally NEED, hoping you do, too. So I came up with a holiday challenge, which will focus mainly on Christmas/New Year's, but also other holidays as well. If your faith is not one that celebrates Christian holidays, have no fear, you will be able to follow the directions and still play along using your own holidays instead. Another little tidbit to the rules - if at any time you wish to do a birthday as a substitute for any holiday, you may do so. Any questions, you may ask here or PM me.
So here we go for month one - August, which, in case you didn't notice, has no major holidays. And that's fine because this is where we are going to begin anyway:
You know that beautiful holiday paper line you saw about this time last year, and you knew you just HAD to have it no matter what? And then you took gobs of pictures over the holidays of your family and friends? Well if you are like me, you still have lots of the beautiful papers, and embellies, that are sitting in a spot with all those photos, and nothing got done. Why? Because December tends to be the busiest of months!! And in January you are exhausted. I have several Jewish friends that feel the same way, because they are invited to all the parties, and festivities, and go see the lights, and bake for friends. I found out no one really gets a break.
So your challenge for August is to break out some of those photos from last December (or whenever!!) and use the beautiful supplies you just had to have! And do a layout!! AND. . . if you do a card for the holidays with your scraps? Your name goes in twice!
Same small print as before . . . Due August 31st, 11:59PM, at which time thereafter I'll pull randomly a name for a $5 gift card.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!
I have several years worth of pics to choose from!! Thanks Sher!! I too need this challenge!!

What a great challenge, Sher! I have lots of holiday photos to scrap, especially Christmas!!
I might find some Christmas from last year, if not, could it be New Years? I do not want to fuss with this being a new challenge. Just let me know what works.

As with all my challenges, I count all the entries. If you want New Year's, hey, that's another page in your book done! That's fine. I just know I buy beautiful stuff that I don't use. . . And now I'm going to use it!!oceanbreezes423 wrote:I might find some Christmas from last year, if not, could it be New Years? I do not want to fuss with this being a new challenge. Awesome (and perfect for me) challenge. I have plenty of pics AND unopened Christmas collections!
Yeah, I know I have them divided by year, and the paper with it came from the same year. And I'm not telling you how many YEARS they go back. . . lol.emmapaige wrote:Awesome (and perfect for me) challenge. I have plenty of pics AND unopened Christmas collections!
Awesome awesome awesome challenge!!! For some reason I have a mental block about scrapping Christmas photos. There are just so many photos and beautiful supplies (!!) that I get overwhelmed. But you are absolutely right! Last year I got almost the entire line of KaiserCraft Christmas papers and embellies and wanted to catch up on all the many years' worth of Christmas Pageant photos but have yet to even touch the supplies. I'm going to do it this month. Well at least get started anyway LOL! My DS was in his first pageant in 2004 and I still have not done those pages yet!!! DD is almost too big to be in the pageants anymore - maybe 1 or 2 more years left yet. I need to get a move-on LOL! And doing cards at the same time is a great idea!
Happy Scrapping!

This is a good one--I definitely have some catching up to do, although in general, I am not as bad about Christmas pages since I usually make a New Years resolutions to catch up/keep up on my scrapping--and since Christmas is fresh in my mind, I tend to start there. Where I really fall apart is after Easter/Spring break... But there are several years when I didn't do that, so I will work on those pictures for this challenge.
This is awesome! And thank you Sher for allowing ALL holidays to work. My family gets together for Thanksgiving and there might not be gifts, but there are alot of laughs and pictures! So I tend to grab more Fall/Autumn/Thanksgiving Collections than Christmas. And guess what? I've still got Thanksgiving 2015 pics to scrap so Yay!

Yep if it's a holiday, and we bought some stuff just for that and it's still sitting around - well, there you go! I'm with you all on this!!!blbabe1234 wrote:This is awesome!
