Chalk Ink Preferences
Good Morning,

I need to purchase some chalk ink and was wondering which would be a better purchase, ColorBox or Prima.  Also, top color recommendations?
Thank you! Hilary

I used colorbox for years...and now I use Prima. The sponge on the base seems to stay on longer with the Primas.

I think the opposite... i bought a multi pack of Prima ones (at HL) and ended up throwing away 6 out of 8. The ink pads fell right off the holder ...

Re: Chalk Ink Preferences
I have always used ColorBox, although I have had the occasional ink pad that falls off.  Also, on some of them, the lids don't fit well and they fall off and the ink pad dries out...
But my go to colors are charcoal, chestnut roan, dark brown and creamy brown.

WoW Kim! I wonder if that was a bad bunch! I've had pretty good luck with mine (so far!) Image

I do wonder if they were out in the heat (during shipping? Waiting in the back of the trucks, etc?). And I should have taken them back, but "chalked it up" to oh, well.... i really just use them on the edges of papers. So I've been using a distress ink pad and a dauber thing like I saw Sara M. do in her videos. Haven't had any trouble with those, but I don't get the chalky smooth edge like the others.

I've had the same problem as Kim with the prima. However I thought it really held the ink so much better.

Re: Chalk Ink Preferences
I used to love the colorbox and finally switched over to the Prima chalk inks.  My colorbox just didn't last very long.  Either the pad fell off, dried out quickly or the pad would start to crumble from use.  I had a couple of the Prima's and only used them occasionally.  I have had them for well over three years and they are just like new.  Full of ink and the pads look new too,  I love how much easier they are to hold when inking.  In fact, I just acquired the complete collection of all 40.  Beautiful colors and very similar to the colorbox colors.
