What do you do with your scraps???
The ones that are too big to yhrow away or strips????
I've been doing some reorganizing and realized I have quite a lot of this stuff.
I guess I am miserly and I hate just throwing stuff away....

Re: What do you do with your scraps???
I have my solid cardstock organized by color, each in an individual plastic holder.  My pattern paper is in one of those clear iris cases that can hold 12x12 paper.  2 or 3 years ago I went through all my scraps and threw out the small pieces and the ones I knew I wouldn't use.  That made the solid scraps way less bulky and my pp went from 2 boxes to 1.

Re: What do you do with your scraps???
well if they are pp's then I just keep them with the papers, embellies, etc...  and if they are solids, I used to keep them in the 12x12 plastic bags, but they would get bent up and rarely used.  now when I buy stuff, I get an entire kit, including matching cardstock and do my best to keep it all together.  that's what seems to work best for me

Re: What do you do with your scraps???
For solids and cardstock, if the scrap is big enough to mount a pic on, I throw it in my scrap bag.  I only keep patterned paper if the design is such that I can use it later to punch icons out.
OCD is not an adjective.  It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized.  It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. 💙 I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son. 💙

Of course, having said that, I guess I should confess that I will keep every single scrap of the last of the Basic Grey, regardless of the size.  Image

Re: What do you do with your scraps???
I keep my scraps in manila folders separated by patterned papers vs cardstock. Then, each of those are separated by color. It's easy to find a certain color of cardstock or patterned paper. Sometimes if I need to trace out a triangle, circle, etc. for size I'll grab a scrap of patterned paper I doubt I'd use on a layout.

Me, too!

I keep my scraps that are at least 2 X 3 inches in 12 X 12 bags sorted by colors.  If they are smaller than that, I force myself to toss them.  I use them to make cards, most of the time.

I also keep my scraps in file folders by color. And the folders are in a file similar to this...one but, mine is plastic and was less expensive.  I use to have one when I lived in Washington that was even cardboard with matching flie folders.  I will try and take a photo. This will give you an idea.

As far as using my scraps I just happen to use some tonight to make this card for me dad.

Solid card stock is stored in a large ziploc.  Patterned paper is kept in a 12x12x1 scraponizer box.  None of it is sorted. I go through through the patterned paper box all the time for layering or punches in layouts.  I'll only keep papers I really like and will cull out anything that I pass over for a long time or if the box gets too full.

Thanks for all the ideas. I admit I am a paper hoarder!
I have a bunch of scraps and I need to go through and dump some of it!
Right now it is in many ziplocks.
I like the idea of sorting by solids and pp!

I like this idea as well. I have my solids in one box and pp in another. It is difficult to find what I need, so I don't use my scraps too often. I have a ton.

This pic was taken in 2011, I had submitted my idea to Scrapbooks ETC and they published it (Feb 2011 issue)

I have so many tote bags that fit SB papers that I reserve one just for leftover scraps and it is sorted - somewhat. I go to it when I need a smaller piece to mount a photo or add a diecut accent.

Re: What do you do with your scraps???
I keep them in a drawer (one for cardstock on for patterned paper) unsorted and try to look in there first when I need something small.  I tried sorting but it was too much work to look through 6-7 folders instead of one drawer.
