for new collections...What would they be?
I think it's time for some new ZOO collections & SOCCER collections (specifically pp). These are the 2 that came to my mind!!
This is a great topic! I would like to see a technology line . . . emphasizing computers, laptops, gadgets, etc. I also think we are in need of a good "Moving" or "First Home" line. And, this would only apply to a limited number of us, but I wish I could buy a border, or paper, or a sticker that says "October" without it automatically having a pumpkin or a ghost. I'm fine with autumnal colors and leaves, but sometimes I want to scrap an event that happened in October that has nothing to do with Halloween.
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
LOVE that idea!!Laura wrote:This is a great topic! I have always been looking for winter guard themes...kind of a narrow appeal, but it's hard to find the flags and sabres and rifles without all the marching band stuff. It's WINTERguard...not COLORguard!
I also would love more camping items, and anything that includes pink flamingos lol.

Whoo hooo Laura I just love all your suggestions!!! I would dearly love not having too many papers with controllers though......they've gotten old in my book. And because my birthday is the day before Halloween, I too, would love an October line without the Halloween or Birthday theme!!!Laura wrote:This is a great topic! Now what would I like to see! I only know of one line that was done with the topic I have in mind. A very feminine country or western theme! Need one for the guys, too. NO BUCKING HORSES!!! I still am so smitten with Bo Bunny Prairie Chic!
Bucking horses belong on a rodeo theme not farming or ranching because we DO NOT WANT OUR HORSES TO BUCK! You don't even want a young horse in training to buck, it's totally HORRIBLE MANNERS! Think of it along the lines of having a dog that doesn't know how not to jump on people. I also DO NOT WANT CUTE as the lifestyle is loaded with hard work and so much satisfaction in your work! And when farmers and ranchers play it's with hardy enthusiasm!
I agree with the moving theme and the teen/young adults being not just about prom and graduation!
Happy Scrapping!

I didn't meet my measly goal of 5 LO's last month, so I will just shoot for that again this month and hope for the best!

Great question. I'd like to see some ROTC items and some farming things that have beef cattle, not just milk cows. Probably too specific, but maybe there's a market. Maria
Sports papers! I don't generally care for the ones with big graphics, but I like the smaller prints. Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, Wrestling, Basketball, Karate are just a few I need NOW!! LOL
Also, I'm always on the hunt for more beachy papers!!

maybe its just how I see it..........but the large mass market retailers out there.........seem to carry GOBS of themed things like have been listed here.............so im suspecting the major retailers don't really delve into that area...since they cant compete with those stores in volume sold/cost etc?????
I understand what you all mean, and I feel the same when I'm shopping for clothes for my son. They are never "just right". You can only have so many striped shirts, so many video games, dinosaurs, hot rods on your shirts .... and then, they are either "too old" or "too young. "

Auto racing like Indy cars and NASCAR. These were popular once, but it is impossible to find those things now. I live in the Race Capitol of the world and there are tons of race activities around. I agree about the month factor. Months with major holidays always seem to have the words decked out for that holiday like Halloween and Christmas. There are other things in our lives to document that aren't holiday related. I agree about the sports lines. The big basketball design on PP would be better if there was just a border or small designs.

Maria, your exactly right! Need beef cows! I am so tired of Holsteins and Jerseys! There more beef ranchers than Dairy Farmers simply because of mechanization so I think there is a market. I imagine very few of the designers grew up on the farm. If one thinks about it you can promptly name the most famous cow in the US and she is a Jersey.de3fn wrote:Great question. Carrie, you exactly hit the nail on the head! I walked into Office Depot yesterday for tyvek and there is this bright BOLD display of Scotch Washi Tape! I took a peek and walked away because I want to support ACOT! The same reason I do not purchase from Hobby Lobby or JoAnn or Michaels unless I am totally out of something and need it NOW! Then I prefer Hobby Lobby because of being a family owned corporation. Even the various companies here sell to the box stores.....I was so disappointed when G45 started to sell to the box stores!CarrieG wrote:maybe its just how I see it..........but the large mass market retailers out there.........seem to carry GOBS of themed things like have been listed here.............so im suspecting the major retailers don't really delve into that area...since they cant compete with those stores in volume sold/cost etc?????
Then at my monthly crop weekend before last this economist had that revalation while there! The whole picture came together as a female economist. I have a quirk about being around large number of people I do not know. It comes from working in a penitentiary! Same reason I will not go to a movie theater. It's actually worse there for me. Then when I crunch numbers the cost of my time, gas, wear and tear on my vehicle it's cheaper for me to get my supplies from here. Then the my scrappy friends I crop with didn't discover the rest of the scrapping world until CM went under! Watching their childlike enthusiasm for discovering G45 was a treat as I have done 7 or 8 layouts at crops using G45. And that isn't the only manufacture they are gravitating towards: Echo Park, American Crafts, and Simple Stories to name just a few. We have had an addition to our group who penny pinches worse then I do. What she doesn't realize will spend a huge amount in gas to find that $3.99 pad of cardstock at Tuesday Morning. It's the kind of quality cardstock I tried once and threw it out about four sheets into the pad right after I started scrapping. That was the real eye opener and let me know each individual has their own way of shopping and their own quirks. No way is better then another!
As for that $3.99 cardstock pad.......after three hours of trying everything known to women the Cricuit Explore could not produce a clean cut! Even a new blade! Five sheets from that pad in the trash! She just knew her Explore at home wood cut it! I'd bet the whole inside of the barn she pulled her hair out trying on her Explore!
Yep, I am rarely disappointed with what I purchase because of the many questions I have had that the members have answered especially when I joined ACOT. So my hats off to all the wisdom you have offered in my full blown addiction!
Always remember we are at the mercy of what sells to the masses and not to our individual desires! If what you have written on this thread is what you really want to see, write a letter and an email to your favorite companies. It is the only way beyond numbers (dollars) will give them an idea of what you want. If you have a blog then write about what you want to see or give a honest polite review of a line on your blog. I titled one blog post A Review of Bo Bunny Prairie Chic. One of the Design Team members from Bo Bunny read it and left me a very kind reply. And she must have mentioned it to the rest of team and staff because my count on visits jumped like crazy!
Let me know if you do write and I will pop an email off to help you out......I would like to see most of what all of you wrote about!
I don't know if I'd need an entire line, but I would love to see some volleyball stuff. Some really cool volleyball papers and embellies. I have some stuff, but I've noticed often that companies will offer every sport in a specific item except volleyball.
