Well, I fell short of my ambitions in July. I just could not seem to get it going. Plus with my sister's week long visit, I had other things gong on. August should be a good month for me. No real plans, and with school starting on the 20th, my days will be freed up once again. So, for this month I am going to shoot for my normal 30. What about the rest of you cherries?

Well July was one of my worst months. So far I have done 4 which is pretty low for me. I think I usually get at least 10 each month. I am going to shoot for only 6 this month. Just not feeling like scrapping at all. Not sure if it is the weather, not feeling well or just burned out. Hopefully, I am wrong and will get my butt back in gear. Grandkids went back to school yesterday and maybe I will scrap those pics first. It is a starting point. Good luck everyone with your goal and reaching it.
I totally understand the lack of ambition, I felt it last month also. I hope your mojo comes back, but more than that, your passion and love for scrapping. Good luck!Sandi0805 wrote:Well July was one of my worst months. So far I have done 4 which is pretty low for me. I think I usually get at least 10 each month. I want to do 25 layouts, 5 cards and 2 altered projects.
Sandi...I went from scrapping about 6-8 layouts a day to nada-darn-one at the beginning of the year. Finally I did a couple of things that got me started (I tried the Challenges suggestion from someone at the time and 'Well, no, I don't feel like scrapping' was my reaction. Thought I'd just share what did work, just in case it might help you:Sandi0805 wrote:Well July was one of my worst months. So far I have done 4 which is pretty low for me. - I went back through my own albums...every layout... 15-years worth. I ended up changing or adding a couple of things on a couple of layouts.
- I bought a few sheets of paper that were totally out of my norm (CP DIY Shop was mine as you see what I scrap with normally) and then sat down and used it right away - it made the scrapping process feel new to me.
- I made 10 cards (a few at a time) as a gift to someone at Easter. Making the cards - cutting and gluing felt good; the fact that they really loved them made me want to make more stuff.
- I went through every single item in my scrap space. I think I touched almost every piece of paper and every die cut. I flipped through stickers and checked out my wood. I rearranged things and bought that spice rack at TJMaxx for my sprays.
- I went back through years of photos on my computer and saw several occasions that hadn't been scrapped.
- I took a class and didn't do all the assignments, but read the PDFs and watched the videos.
- I showed my albums to someone. That person had the politeness to ooh and aah. I started feeling proud of what I made and wanting to make more.
- I watched a bunch of old Glitter Girl videos. Also a couple of the other Garden Girls. They're still on YouTube. Watching someone scrap made me NEED to cut pretty paper and hear adhesive rolling.
I don't know if any of this will help you, but I just thought I'd share. I hope you find your mojo again.

I did these things - not in this exact order - and would scrap a little all along. Then one day I sat down and scrapped 9 layouts in a 14 hour period. I literally didn't want to get up from my desk. I think it was just the building up and building up through experiencing all these things that finally it just hit me - I really want to scrap NOW. I was in bed a lot of that time sick - but I would get up and work on a layout for a little bit and then lay back down for an hour...all day long.

Thanks for some really good tips to find my mojo. I've been dealing with some health issues and I just feel so tired when I get home from work. Since coming back from vacation on July 5th, July has just flewn by. Joannie, Leslie (lesmitch) and maybe my dd and I are going to a 12 hour crop on the 16th. I am pretty excited about it. I am going to start putting some kits together based on the challenges so I can make the most of my time. There are so many wonderful and new challenges this month that I want to do. Maybe that is what was needed. Something different.Thenonna wrote:Sandi...I went from scrapping about 6-8 layouts a day to nada-darn-one at the beginning of the year. I haven't been around in a few weeks. I spent the month of July doing loads of other things besides Scrapbooking. I only got 3 out of 5 pages done.
i plan to scrap more this month so I am going to go for 10 pages.

My blog: My Paper Life
I've never posted in the goals thread before. I am such a slow poke scrapper and I also don't want to pressure myself lol. After seeing what everyone's goal is and how many they accomplish in a month my totals are pathetic. But I really want to do better, and going through my gallery I do get a lot more done when I paper scrap along with digi scrapping, mostly because when I paper scrap they are usually two pagers. I've had a really busy last few months, but now I want to settle down and get more scrapping done. So my goal for August will be to get 10 pages done. I know it's not very much, but for me it is a good start, as I don't usually even get that much done. So far I've done two. So here we go...
12/10 - passed it woooooo hooooooo
1) For my August Music Challenge - digi
2) For the July Color Challlnge - digi
3) For the August Up Close and Personal Challenge - digi
4) For the August Manufacturer Challenge - digi
5) For the Summer Challenge #4 August - digi
6 & 7) For the MMC August 11 Challenge 2 - digi
8 & 9) For the August Washi Challenge - paper
10 & 11) For the August Three in a Row Challenge - paper
12) For the August Pinterest Challenge - digi

I was close, but still short, in July - my goal was 24 and I finished 21. For August I have a little ground to make up, so my goal is 32.

I would love to be back to scrapping this month but can say that it will be possible (I will have to post a picture of my new scrap room as it looks in it's present condition so you understand)
so, for August, I am challenging myself to ORGANIZE and PREPARE to be ready to scrap on September 1st! If I can at least get that far, believe me, it will be a miracle!
