**Thanks for all the amazing entries, Cherries! Made me spend lots more time looking around on Pinterest, and I may be lifting several of your ideas in the future!
So, time to run to Random.org to pick a winner--and, it's scrapsteph! Congrats, Steph, and I'll get your $5 gift card out to you soon!
****************It's been brought to my attention that I hadn't updated my entries list before posting the winner for this challenge, and I apologize to the cherries whose names didn't appear here. But I assure you all that I keep a notebook with all participants in it, and that was updated prior to visiting random.org to choose a winner. It's hard to post from my kindle- not easy to type when it tries to auto-correct everything, and I still haven't figured out how to copy/paste, etc.
I can only say that I try my best and hope you'll forgive me and continue to play along. This hosting a challenge sometimes is a bit of a job, and I try my best.*********************************
This is a Pinterest-inspired challenge, but if you don't have a Pinterest account, you can still play along using the photo prompt I'm supplying from Pinterest.
Here are the spec's:

4) Post your entry in this thread and share your inspirational photo (or state that you're using the prompt), and then tell me what about it inspired you.
5) Multiple entries are allowed.
6) You may combine with one other August challenge that also allows you to combine. Please list it here.
7) Due midnight CST on August 31, 2014.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Here's my example: I was inspired by the color combo and the wood grain. I also tied some twine around the sentiment block.

LOVE those mason jars. I want to do a layout based on them AND I want to paint some mason jars now!!
Kim - Just to note to say that I love that you do this Pinterest challenge each month! I find that if I do it properly and pick something rather abstract, it provides a chance to think outside the box... just a note to say thanks for expanding my horizon (not sure if I want to thank you for the fact that I end up spending hours on Pinterest as a result...I get so carried away!!)..average_kim wrote:This is a Pinterest-inspired challenge, but if you don't have a Pinterest account, you can still play along using the photo prompt I'm supplying from Pinterest.

Here is my submission. I used a lo off pinterest as inspiration. Thanks for the challenge. Might do this again using your mason jars because I have ideas in my head for those as well.

I used Kim's example since I loved the stripped colors and the burlap flowers.
Awesome interpretation of the photo prompt! I love those paper strips and the burlap flowers! Perfect touches for your pretty photo!emmapaige wrote:I used Kim's example since I loved the stripped colors and the burlap flowers.

Here is mine. Thanks for letting me submit this Kim. I was planning on using burlap and making a layout during a crop. Then when I got to the crop there was a class and I couldn't believe they were using mason jars. I had so much fun selecting from their embellies to make this my own. The fabric samples were beautiful for the top of the jar. I liked distressing the acrylic paint.
Of course it's ok with me to submit it here! You had the challenge in mind as you were creating it, and that's what it's all about! I love your jar! I've wanted to decorate some like this for a while, but never get the right gumption! lol, maybe now I will! Thanks for entering my challenge!Croppinmama wrote:Here is mine. Inspired by the pic of the mason jars with the burlap flowers I made this homey tag from a Prima flower card with jute, and Simple Stories stickers
Karrie
Nice way to draw inspiration for your tag. I especially love the scalloped border stickers and the patchwork heart! Thanks for entering!sweetsour wrote:Inspired by the pic of the mason jars with the burlap flowers I made this homey tag from a Prima flower card with jute, and Simple Stories stickers
