so while I was on vacation...a friend came up from Tucson and we went to store in Mesa...called Scrapbooks Etc... pretty good sized store...with a good mix of new and the standards...had been years since I had been in a lss !!!!! I didn't spend loads since I don't really need much...but it was a fun time and they had a really good clearance section.....some of it fairly current stuff even! my favorite part was the big jars of every imaginable color of button you could want!!!!! I got 75 buttons at 5 cents a piece --loved being able to pick colors and sizes I knew I would use!!!!!!!
I was in Joanns Friday and they were putting up a huge area with buttons galore. Jars filled with one color and lots of color. Looked like they had patterns and other things to go with the buttons. Guess this is the new revival of buttons.

There is a scrapbook store an hour from me and they sell embellishments from jars too. It's nice to just pick what you need. Her whole bay window sill has them lined up. It's fun to look through them all.
How fun. That is great you were able to pick the buttons out individually. It has been years since I have been to a lss too. I have been wondering if there are any by here. My niece worked for Basic Gray and now she work for Stampin Up. I guess I should ask her. I am sure she would know.

I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

My SB friend who lives in Utah went into WalMart by her house this week to get something and checked out the SB area. They are converting her store into a WalMart Super Store and are getting rid of mdse apparently. There was a big table full of all kinds of SB stickers and Jolees etc. marked $1.00 each. She checked with the clerk and she said, yep if on that table, will ring up at $1. each so she cleaned house on Jolees. When we first started visiting her in Utah, there was a SB store on every other corner and all kinds of warehouse stores for various brands. Now NO SB stores at all in her area or for miles around and only warehouse store left is SEI. Man I loved going to visit and hitting the Daisy D's warehouse store.

The only store close to me that sells mainly scrappy supplies is ACOT. It is about a half hour to 45 minutes away, I am seriously going to try to go to the warehouse sale coming up. I want to go and meet that side of my cherry family.lol
I used to try to go to a LSS every where we went...now there are hardly any left. So I would probably be in this one forever!! However did you make it out with any money left??

My mom and dad are snowbirds and since my aunt and uncle live in Mesa, my parents spend a lot of their time there in their RV. My mom has talked about an lss there that she has gone to, so this must be the one. There is also a bead store somewhere that she and my aunt like to go to.

My mom winters in AZ and I have a friend in the Phoenix area, so I've been lucky enough to get to Scrapbooks Etc. It's an awesome store and has been around for years. The owners had some sort if affiliation with Bazzill at one time, (not sure if they still do), so if you liked cardstock it was heaven. Definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere near.
Pensacola no longer has a lss. But the lss owner now rents a house downtown to use for crops. There is one this Saturday that Debbie and I may go to. Neither of us has been to this location before and we want to check it out.

Oh, it's gone now? I have a friend in that area and she took me to the Lss there a few years ago. I'm assuming it's the same one I went to. She told me it was the only one in the area, and she really enjoyed shopping and going to crops there. At least you still have an alternative for crops. We have nothing in my area.1grandma wrote:Pensacola no longer has a lss. But the lss owner now rents a house downtown to use for crops. There is one this Saturday that Debbie and I may go to. That is cool. I too generally will search for LSS when I am traveling to a new city/state. The Albuquerque area has a couple of stores that Queenmum and I go to. There is are several left in central Indiana. Most are within an hours drive. The closest one is in Mooresville.
Love going to new ones in new cities as most of the time you can find something unique.

.....oooooo....Carrie!!!! Sounds like heaven to me!! I know you had a good time! I wonder if Amarillo even has an LSS! If not then Lubbock? I know Wichita Falls has one, but I've never been.
I haven't been to an LSS in at least 8 months and maybe longer!
I love an LSS that has jars to go through!!! I guess that's why I love antique stores, too, when I feel like scavenging!!
