I liked the sketch you suggested, it worked well for this photo.
My trendy features: 1) I used a mask on the photo and blended it into the background. 2) I used the orange stamp or splatter for the background accent.
My 3 new things: This was a great excuse to check out the store a little, I wishlisted some items and put some in my cart for later. I downloaded these items for the first time today: 1) The mask that I used for the journal card. 2) The font I used for my title. 3) The ribbon on the journal card.
My 3 old things: I just started digital scrapbooking in February, so everything is basically new to me. However, I used items from one of the first kits I ever purchased. 1) The background paper. 2) The pansy for my cluster. 3) The white butterfly on the journal card.

Well thanks for taking the time to do it! I like how you put the pic of the tiger in there too! I am guessing the purple and gold was the school colours also ? Whew, finished this just in time. I combined with the 3 in a row challenge.
I googled scrapbooking trends and saw that star shapes and arrows were on the list from CHA winter.
My two trendy items are the corrugated star and the arrow. I inked both with clearsnap chalk inks.
My three new things are the three papers (stripe, argyle and light blue) and the stickers (journal tag, owl and the two photo corners) all from Authentique.
My three old things from my stash are the brads on the journal tag, the flower, button, twine and the green cardstock.
Picture of my grandson just hanging out at the youth football field the fall of 2005 when he was 4 1/2.
