That's the post I linked to above. It had a ton of information about how to make them.

I've been making these, too. Image

Just a tip, if you see the perler beads that have a shimmery pearl look to them, don't buy them! They don't melt properly. I tried all different temps and times, nothing worked.  The striped ones turn out really cool, though.

Hmmmmm.......I haven't had any problems with the pearly ones. I do mine at 300 degrees on a silcone matt for 1 hour. They are perfect. I agree with you on the stripped ones. They turn out so cool.

THANKS for that info!!  Ok, I'll give that a try.  I've just been using parchment paper on a metal cookie sheet for the others.

Re: Home Made Enamel Dots
I really appreciate the tips/suggestions on the shimmery pearl looking perler beads....but....I guess they just aren't meant to be for me LOL  Mine still turned out with a funny ring around the top, even with using a silicone mat and switching up my temp and time.  Oh well, I have LOTS of the other dots for my projects!

I am going to have to try this, I don't like paying more than $3 for embellishments and enamel dots seem to cost an awful lot for a tiny thing.

You will love them and never buy them again. Fair warning.......they are addicting.

Re: Home Made Enamel Dots
Well today I'm trying my third small batch. First batch all turned brown with holes in the middle. Second batch lower heat to 325 didn't close either and started turning brown. Third batch in with heat to 300 degrees and praying. Lol! Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advice?? I don't have a toaster oven so I can't try that.

Okay I think I'm learning...Third batch is better. I will post later.

Thanks! Can you tell me for how long? I will try it lower yet.

I noticed if my parchment paper gets brown my colors turn darker. Anyone else have that problem?

They look AWESOME!!! I also use a silicone matt with the 225 temp. I can't remember how long (its been a long time), but the matt and lower temp is the key.

Thanks, Mildred, I'm investing in a silicone mat and finally found out the secret was a lower temp. LOL!
