I "think" that is what those SUPER OLD round things with sharp edges that go into the paper are called??? I think. LOL
Concho can be related to the oil and gas industry.....but that's not it.

The original concho associated with agriculture was used in regards to ranch work.  Mostly on saddles and was taken from the Central and South American cultures.  Today a concho can look very different then when I was child and had my first horse.  They had already moved to decorative pieces on saddles.  Below is a link where you can look at the variety of conchos.

And these are pictures of conchos used in ranch work and decorative pieces on horse tack (saddles, bridles, etc.)

Image  This was they style you would see 40 years ago on tack.

Image  I like this one.....pretty!  New style concho

Image  This style of concho came out late 70's early early 80's era on tack

Image  Started seeing squares in the early 80's.  This one just rolled to be a diamond.

Image  I've seen alot of these on today's saddles.  Very pretty on a saddle if dark leather.

ImageApparently they now call these conchos.  Somehow that just doesn't work for me....conchos are suppose to be slotted....sigh....things do change!  When I was younger these would have been called decorative studs.  And yes, barrel racing is a wonderful sport.  I barrel raced for seven years as a teenager.

Tim Holtz has put out conchos.  Don't know if any are in the store right now.

Here's the link I said I'd give:

http://www.conchos.com/

Hope this helps!

Re: NSD Pick an Element Challenge
This was such a fun challenge to do! I was planning to do a layout with these dorky teenage photos that I took and the challenge helped me pick some of the elements! This is the first challenge that I've ever participated in, but was so fun that I'm going to try some others out before next Saturday!Image

Here is my page: I used white paper, border punches, mini alphas (the bead letters), hearts (on the metal tabs that are on the photos and brads on the journaling strips). http://www.acherryontop.com/gallery/188 ... 42-700.jpg

Re: NSD Pick an Element Challenge
When I found out I was challenged to use red as my color for the Fast Scrap, I knew I was going to do a layout of my granddaughter, Paige. I included the arrow I made, and my elements were border punches, corrugated paper, glitter and chipboard.
