I've been browsing Pinterest this morning searching for mood boards to use in future challenges here and it got me thinking ... if you use mood boards to scrapbook (or if you just enjoy looking at them) what about them inspires you the most? The color combinations? The subject of the photos? The font/quotes? Something else .... ??

Would love your feedback as it would help me narrow down which boards to choose for April, May and June

I'm usually drawn to the colors, especially color combos you wouldn't usually use to scrapbook.

My second inspiration would be a quote.

Difficult to answer, but I can see why you're asking, there are so many beautiful ones to choose from!! 
To me that is the cool thing about them, it could be any one or combination of things, or the over all feeling it presents.
Like the last one (March's) you posted, reminded me of my mom for a variety of personal reasons. It wasn't so much about the colours, but I did use them on my card.
Another one I did, the moodboard was all frosting pink and frilly and spoke baby girl to me - and the whole LO was made in pink,lacy feminine and frilliness, not my usual style, but really cute.
Another I found had a sugar skull in the middle, which originated in Mexico and translated to a pirate page & our Mexico vacay...
And after all that I don't think I answered your ?? at all!  LOL

But I should add that you have been giving us some really nice ones, with variety and should continue to go with your feelings of what will work!

What inspires me most about a mood board, is my own interpretation of what I think the artist utilizing it is attempting to capture.

For example, from the Feb mood board, i got a lacey, girly project feel. From the March, I get a smart, colorful, modern feel.

I'd love to see some future ones that focus on hard lines, or focus on drippy/watery free flowing images.

Does any of this make sense? Something that leads you toward a particular feel to a project.

it just depends. the last two you posted, I've been inspired by colors and elements on the page. Sometimes it might be something specific like a quote, or just some of the accents. I really love it because we can all see something so different when looking at the same board.

when you post them for challenges...I am usually inspired by the colors and the over all feeling

I had never seen a mood board before your challenge. I've between inspired by the colors, shapes, textures and feelings /emotion that comes from looking at it. It's one of my favorite challenges because everyone comes up with such different interpretations. I've really liked your choices so far. My only suggestion would be to continue to choose boards that are very different from previous ones.

I'm not sure I'm understanding what a mood board is. My mind is thinking a bulletin board and put things on it that you like? LIke pics out of a magazine and use them for scrapping inspiration?

Mood boards are what I post every month in the mood board challenge 

The official definition is - "a type of collage that may consist of images, text and samples of objects. Designers often use mood boards to convey their design concepts and to communicate a vision to other members of a team."  So, yes - kind of like a virtual bulletin board with different ideas and pictures on it, but each element on the board was deliberately chosen to fit a certain theme/concept and create a "mood" ... colors are often a big part of it, but the main goal of a mood board is to convey an overall vibe. 

Mood boards have always been super popular in the graphic design and interior decorating world, then they became a big hit in the wedding planning industry and now scrapbookers are getting into it.  Here's a link with lots of wedding mood boards ... yes, they all fit a certain color scheme but more importantly as soon as you see the board you get a real sense of the bride's vision for her big day. With scrapbooking, some people try and follow a mood board completely,  taking their inspiration quite literally, while others pick just one or two elements on the board to inspire a layout.

I agree with Kim! I'm first inspired by the colors and then other elements catch my eye.

Mood boards are awesome. I either am inspired by something literal-the color, a specific photo
OR
The general feeling I get from one. Sometimes the page doesn't even look like it came from that mood board.
