I have been trying to clean out/purge my wish list and I keep getting a message saying 'an error has occurred' - anyone else getting this?

Are you using the delete icon or checking items and using the 'delete selected items'?

checking items and using 'delete selected items'; I have tried deleting lots thinking maybe I deleted too many then tried just deleting a few items and still got the same result - maybe my basket is just too full

I just fixed some issues with deleting items from baskets/wishlist. Is it working correctly for you now?
