This challenge is in honor of the new little furbaby dh and I will be welcoming into our family today. We are actually going to be picking her up shortly after my shift ends. So that is why I have been using the word "welcome" as my theme for the crop. We can't wait to bring her home and welcome her into our family! If you have been following my tease posts over the last two weeks, this challenge should be pretty easy for you to do. I want you to do a layout about someone that you welcomed into your family, or someone that you welcomed home. In my "More on Welcome" thread, many of you told a story about someone you welcomed. If you did, then your journaling is basically already done. (Clever aren't I?) You don't have to use your story in the post word for word, alter it however you would like. If you don't want to do a page about what you wrote about, then that is okay too. Just choose another person or furbaby that you welcomed and be sure to journal about it. I want to see journaling!
Now for the twist. You must use something on your page with each of the letters in the word "Welcome". The items don't necessarily have to be scrappy related, but there must be something on the page that starts with a "W" (Go Mildred!), an "E", an "L", a "C", an "O", an "M", and another "E".My example page is about the day our grandson was born and we welcomed him into our world. Since I wrote about that day on my "More on Welcome" thread, my journaling was basically done. I just made a few alterations to it.

The items I used to spell out the word welcome are:
Word art
Elephant
Lullaby sheet music
Clothesline
Onesie
Mobile
Envelope
This is open to paper, digi, and hybrid.
The rules:
1) Must contain journaling.
2) Must contain items that start with each of the letters of the word "welcome".
3) Must be a new layout.
4) May not be combined with any other challenges.
5) Must be submitted to the "Welcome Challenge" in the gallery by midnight Sunday May 12.
You all wrote such wonderful, touching stories on my "More on Welcome" thread, and that is what journaling is all about. To write the story. I am really looking forward to seeing all of your pages!
The winner will be chosen by their work... the design of the layout and the journaling.
