I wanted to let you all know that dad has taken a turn for the worse. We now believe the cancer has now spread to his brain. Yesterday he was taken to the hospital because he was delusional, lethargic, not eating, very weak and was slipping in and out of consciousness. The doctor admitted him and gave him a blood transfusion along with a platelet transfusion. They said that there is nothing else that they can do. Dad chose to go home after the doctor said he only has a couple of days a week at the most. Hospis will be coming into his home to help him be more comfortable until he goes. The news from this morning is that he won't take his meds, he is in pain and keeps slipping in and out of consciousness. It is so sad. I wish I could be there but there is nothing I can do. I am so blessed that I was able to spend the month with him this summer. I have wonderful pictures and tons of memories that I will treasure forever.

The only thing cancer does for us is give us a chance to say goodbye. My heart feels for you, I know that pain. Be strong for Dad, and know when you see him again, the cancer will be gone. That's what heaven does for us!

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful words, hugs and prayers. They really mean a lot to me. Today has been very emotional. Last word was that Hospice has come in and gave him liquid morphine for his pain. He is now resting comfortably. I was able to talk with him for like 2 minutes before her fell asleep again. I told him I loved him and he was able to say I love you back. So that made me a little happy. I also was able to speak with his pastor. He was there with him last night and again today. He kept telling me what a wonderful man my dad is, and I couldn't agree with him more. I love my dad so much.
